Many thanks to A/D/O Kevin Sheehan, S/O Gareth Pierce, Sub Officer Neil Cusker and the crew in Dolphins Barn for all their hard work to ensure the smooth running of the event and for making memories for Martha.

Special thanks to Dubco Credit Union for their continued support.

Martha then got straight to work, familiarising herself with all of the equipment on board the fire engine. We think she had a favourite piece of equipment, the first aid hose reel which she put to the test on her family!

It was then time for cake and some presentations from the crew.

Day 4 of #25FSW and today is all about children and students fire safety.

Buying a Halloween costume?

🇪🇺 Check if they have a CE mark on both kids and adult costumes.

👻 Some costumes are classified as toys, they have no fire rating.

A homeowner in West Yorkshire was woken up by a popping noise created by batteries of an electric motorbike being charged

Where do you plug in?

If your charging an electric bike/scooter the safest place to charge it is outside.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Retired Firefighter Gerard "Who Me" McGrath.

Gerard was stationed in Donnybrook and was a great role model to new recruits.

Our thoughts are with his family at this time

Firefighters from #Blanchardstown responded to this car fire last night.

A high pressure hose reel was used to extinguish the fire.

It can take up to 1,000 litres of water to extinguish a fire like this, sometimes we will "make down" to a fire hydrant close by to replenish our supplies.

#DidYouKnow in as little as 3 minutes, you could die from smoke inhalation?

Protect yourself

Have at least 1 working smoke alarm per floor of your home.

Test it weekly.

Replace it as per manufacturer's recommendation(usually 7 to 10 years)
