You didn’t, but witness testimony has come out that he did know what it was in 2011 & described it as a totenkopf. Even if you excuse a drunk 18yo Marine, which I’m inclined to do, I can’t excuse a man who’s had that on his body for many years since, knows what it is, and didn’t get it covered up.
The last two years have been a painful process of finding out who on the left and the right are our actual friends, who will sell us out to score political points, who have fallen prey to crazy conspiracy theories, and who were antisemites all along.
You see, that's the problem with us "rootless cosmopolitans" No right to a homeland of our own, no right to a cuisine. No right to self determination or self defense. Anywhere we go, we're displacing the people who "belong" there (even if they arrived hundreds of years after us.)
Real estate is his comfort zone. I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually decides to demolish the entire WH. Why not? He can rebuild it more to his liking, and who's going to stop him?
The reaction in the media surprised me. The NYT was just matter-of-fact, "Trump is tearing down the East Wing and putting up a ballroom". No commentary on how unprecedented this is, how it normally would require approvals to change a single window of the WH. Nothing. They accept it or favor it.
Hamas militants killed two IDF soldiers who were stationed on the "correct" side of the yellow line. The IDF responded with air strikes. None of this is good. But I don't think this means the ceasefire collapses. www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog-oct...
And some of the people who willingly signed up for this are stuck in limbo because the government can’t figure out how to get people reentry to their countries
I wonder how many of the buyers are apartment dwellers or others without a way to add ev chargers. Seems pointless to spend more on a PHEV if you can’t even run a 120v cord to it.
and yet, Schumer has shut down the government, and the Republicans can't put together a coherent messaging strategy to win the public over to their side 🤷♀️
What do you think would’ve happened differently if Biden had shifted to a hard line against Israel? I think it wouldn’t have changed much in the conflict except emboldening Hamas to resist calls for ceasefire and hostage exchange. And it wouldn’t have gotten Biden reelected.
