No one recovers from such brutality. Plus the terrible thought that he wasn't with his family either to protect them or to die with them. The humiliations and harm over generations also accumulate. How Israelis believe that peace for them can come from this oppression/slaughter is beyond credulity.

Time for a 'just peace' for all peoples in Palestine

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong took a long time just to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. And their belated declaration of Palestinian statehood is an empty gesture when we are still sending F-35 jet components to Israel.

I noticed that, too, Peter. And how many "human stories" emerge of Israeli hostages - yes, as they should. But next to no "human stories" of Palestinian hostages INCLUDING CHILDREN. Unconscious bias? Lazy assumptions? Entrenched primitive binary "thinking"? Definitely not good enough #ABCNews.

This is what UNBEARABLE agony looks like.
Who knows for what reason this poor man was taken hostage - along with 1000s of other Palestinians - but we can easily imagine how his torment is compounded on learning that his wife and CHILDREN were murdered by the same brute forces that held him captive.

In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. The country applies the „Housing First“ concept. Homeless receive a small apartment and counselling. 4 out of 5 ppl make their way back into a stable life. All this is cheaper than accepting homelessness.
