I am immensely proud of the extended Australian Society for Medical Research family for coordinating five Gala Dinners over the next week across five Australian cities. An awesome week ahead! Good food, amazing stories, and wonderful people.

Today on 3RRR I will again broadcast my last interview with Dame Dr Jane Goodall from 2017.
Her words have stuck with me:
"How is it possible that the most intellectual creature that has ever walked the planet is destroying its home".
You can listen at 11am AEDT, rrr.org.au for streaming.

Although the sky looks pretty, it does not look good for astrophotography tonight.

I have a book on my shelf that I bought in 1987 because I was obsessed with galaxies. Here is the Sculptor Galaxy C65 from the book on the left and the image on the right I took earlier this year with a AU$900 telescope from my yard in Melbourne. These days we can all enjoy the cosmos.

I give you the Veil Nebula, C33. A very difficult object for me to image as it is just above the fence line.....so best I could do.
Such a beautiful structure. Imaged with the Seestar S50 from Melbourne.

Here you go people, a wide view of the Large Magellanic Cloud - one of the most beautiful Southern Hemisphere Objects. Captured on a Seestar S50 telescope just 10km from the CBD of Melbourne on a windy night. Feel free to zoom in on this one! 8MP.
