The thing to understand: The savings under Medicare Advantage are to the enrollee.

Medicare Advantage plans actually cost the government about 20% more per enrollee than it would cost the federal government to administer the benefit through a set of complicated rebates & risk adjustment payments

That's not quite accurate.

Medicare Advantage plans are indeed funded by the federal government, but they pay private insurance companies a fixed monthly amount per enrollee from the Medicare trust fund.

The insurance company then pay claims out of their own accounts.

Humana is using AI to adjudicate claims - and denying claims for which there is no logical reason for a denial.

Dallas is West of Salem in the costal foothills

Both are small and rural, less than 20,000 people

If ICE rolled into ether town, they would find themselves outgunned by the locals

An aggressive move in these cases would be to compel testimony from a commanding officer to ascertain if the guardsman's actions were w/in the scope of mission, covered by training, etc.

That will go over big back in the unit

It would also document how unprepared the guard is for such missions

I’ve stepped out of full time clinical care twice

Clinic Dean: I did 1.5 days a week, but also did a weekly journal club with residents, so I stayed pretty current

CMO: 5 years seeing patients a couple of weeks a year (covered PTO for my replacement)

Very much of a challenge to recover from #2

The travel: I would leave Sunday AM, return on Thursday MOST weeks. Sometimes it was for two weeks

During this time, she took care of most everything. It was an important role, but it was not ideal for our relationship

Where we are now has restored balance to our lives

I cook as I am a trained chef - so I also do the shopping & clean the kitchen

I clean bathrooms

I vacuum at least the stairs, usually she gets the rest

I would never do her laundry but I do mine

I wash the sheets & make the bed

For years she put up with me being gone for work for days

Its a refuge for those who didn't/couldn't stay in but did not want to quit the life

I think Ken is correct; the speaker is basing not swearing her in on congress not being in session. He is not contesting her qualifications, so Powell v McCormack does not apply.

Speaker Pro Tem could also swear her in, he won't
