Stupendous. Great performances all round, looks amazing, fabulous soundtrack, endlessly quotable, and Robbie Coltrane as an airfield operator. Camp as tits. What’s not to love? Well, maybe not the pervy father-daughter bdsm or Flash’s leather budgie smugglers. Check the angular vector of the moon!

Fantastic discussion - the Trustees are so clear and reasoned and have such a compelling mission. Thanks for putting this out there.

Lovely work! The Story of a Disappearance and an Appearance.

@bigfinish.bsky.social's new Sherlock Holmes series, Sherlock Holmes Untold, is an entertaining romp through the missing adventures. You can hear me chatting to other Sherlockians about it in their their podcast www.bigfinish.com/podcasts but don't let that put you off buying it.

Definitely, plus I think Brett was not well (he wanted to remake it). I think a good Hound adaptation has to be on the edge of reality, as though the story could turn at any moment. I suspect Hawkesworth would have done a far better job on the script too.

Thanks Mel! Lovely to see you yesterday.

That's a great exhibition. Saw it in April. The replica flying machine with working wings was a particular favourite.

I’d love to see the family tree because if he’s descended from Adrian or Denis that’s not making it any better

Always great to talk to @jfmachin.bsky.social, this time about 'Stark Munro'. A very entertaining novel, but definitely something of a curate's egg. Looking forward to digging into his new anthology of Buchan's Strange Stories for @blpublishing.bsky.social which arrived yesterday.

He was fantastic in The Lost World - a perfect John Roxton.

Quite. I've drunk too many cups of tea and acrylic paint ...
drmjones.bsky.social
Fortunately I did not have to resort to that… this time…
