the only actual doctor in Estranged cast is Antonio, specifically he's a surgeon 🙂‍↕️ he usually trims Gisel's scarred tissue when it becomes too thick

making a new oc just for one role is too tedious so we just use Sara as a stand-in for "need medical opinion" hcs and ideas 😂

another fun fact is the old description of the results used very demeaning words. Most famous of this is the R-slur

iirc its the WAIS/WISC tests that used to label low scores as "stupid" "dumb" or the r-slur

obviously they dont do that anymore 😭 but it's important to learn from history 🙂‍↕️

unfortunately it would take a long time for researchers to realize that their own biases skew the results of a supposedly standardized test

extremely unfortunately is the results of those tests were publicized to further marginalize poc people compared to their white counterparts

we do talk about racial biases in sample populations back in univ. Obviously an intelligence test based on the curriculum of a specific country would yield low results to another country

in case youre wondering why tests are sometimes labeled as "(test name) - IV" but u never took I-III
