Mammatus clouds over Ponca City 6/8/25 around 3:35 PM. Severe thunderstorm moving in from the west currently. #okwx
GalaxyCon OKC, day 2. Can't go wrong with a little KP cosplay.

Well, this is an interesting special weather statement... Can't say I've seen this before (but I might not have been paying attention). #okwx
It's amazing how fast cats learn what the sound of a can opening means.

Adopted a geriatric tabby from the shelter yesterday, and by this morning's feeding everybody came running when I cracked that can of tuna.
We had a lightning strike in Ponca close enough that the thunder set off our car alarms.

I'm grateful most of it was rain and pea sized hail.
Photo at 7:20 pm looking north northeast towards Newkirk from just south of downtown Ponca City. The lower level clouds are streaming in very quickly from the south and the mid level clouds are moving in quickly from the southwest.

With severe weather expected in Oklahoma tonight, can someone tell me what tie Mike Morgan is wearing today so I know whether I need to replace my go-bag or not?

Thank you!!

Thought that ninny was already on the No Fly list.
Well, there goes modeling for this season and beyond. Guess I'll enjoy the days 4-8 while they're still available.
Mine was going to be, "What? Like *I* can fuck it up worse?"
Taken about 7 PM looking west down Central Ave in Ponca City. I can't get over how much dirt is in the air.

Even now, at almost 10, the wind is still absolutely ripping out there. Mesonet is showing about 40 mph peak gusts in the last hour.
Hatched ass first? I'm adding that to my lexicon immediately. 😂

I absolutely love reading mesonet posts. Between the socials and the ticker, it always makes my day
You too! Visibility is right at about a half mile up here now and the snow flakes are tiny but mighty. It's starting to stick.
It was sleeting like crazy up in Kay County at a little after 5 this morning. Now at the airport in Ponca, just low visibility and intermittent mixed precip.

Hearing more emergency sirens than usual today, though.
Thanks for the ivermectin comment, now I'm having flashbacks to working pharmacy during the first wave of COVID AND I can't get rid of the mental image of these yoyos dragging their asses around like a dog. 😆
Pig clubs were a common thing in the UK, a group would put together the $$ to buy a pig or two and everyone would contribute to feeding it. At slaughter, everyone who was part of the club would get meat.

Check out ration books from the war and post-war era, too. Tells you what'll be hard to find.
This is the most Christopher Columbus advisory committee I've ever seen.

Wtf?
I guess I don't know why they don't just lock the doors when they see them coming? Like, "hey, we're closed for lunch... all day."
This just went to the top of my list of nicknames for him.
