It featured enhanced graphics and different encounters and its engine & graphics were then used for our Pokémon Red & Blue

Ofc Pokémon has that kind of leeway because every Pokémon is entirely unique to begin with, which isn't a luxury too many games in this genre have

I haven't seen many, if any, monster raising RPGs copy the concept of shiny Pokémon, it's kinda crazy

Taking something that'd normally be seen as a sign of laziness (in this case, palette swaps) and making them something people trip over themselves to find is something a lot of devs would kill for
