There are two outcomes to this strike: power companies pay you a fair rate for your solar feed in, or gummint commandeer your power to profit power companies (yeah , the technology exists for them to do this, but god fucking help them if they try!).

You can control the feed to your power company in your inverter. Power is literally in your hands.
A three week strike will see power retailers paying more for power than your lock-in-contract pays them.

15c to buy from the grid and -6c to feed in. Retail you’re paying 22c-29c per kilowatt hour and (at best) receiving 5c feed in rate. Watt?
That’s a shitload of profit on -6c feed in wholesale price!
This is you and me and the taxpayer propping up power companies’ profit.

Taxpayers are subsidising solar and battery installation (which I support). But who profits?
Power companies.
Household solar provides 50% of the grid during the day. What are the wholesale prices?

50 years ago, rape was treated as property crime. A crime against the father or husband, not a crime against the woman or child. Fathers and husbands were free to rape their wives and children because wives and children were considered property.
Judges don’t seem to realise these laws have changed.

Funding is a silver lining in a tumultuous year for the Lebanese-Australian artist from western Sydney Creative Australia has awarded a $100,000 grant to artist Khaled Sabsabi, months after he was controversially dumped and then reinstated by the federal arts body as Australia’s representative for the 2026 Venice Biennale. The grant – one of 16 made under Creative Australia’s Visual Arts, Craft and Design Framework – will fund the creation of a new body of work for a solo exhibition opening in March 2027 at Adelaide’s Samstag Museum of Art, which will also include Sabsabi’s Venice Biennale work. Protests broke out last week in Timor-Leste, with thousands of demonstrators demanding parliament cancel a $4.2 million plan to purchase SUVs for lawmakers and lifetime pension for MPs and public officials.

Sixty-two members of parliament voted unanimously on Friday to pass a new law that scrapped the pensions for MPs, former presidents, prime ministers and cabinet ministers.
