Games were already pushing things at different prices in different player contexts, which created what you mentioned, it's just now it's some AI data prediction BS that drives it.

(a good warning for how AI can use our data to squeeze as much money as possible out of EVERYONE, when data is not protected, and when AI is given control of a system to fulfill the greedy intent of rich CEOs/greedy governments)

(there is now different IAP prices in mobile games for different players, using AI on their data to predict behavior. Higher priced bundles when players are most engaged/vulnerable/addicted, cheap prices when players are about to leave the game to maintain addiction/squeeze revenue)

I've been obsessed with Puppet Sunsun since stumbling upon it in a random shop in Tokyo a couple years ago. So proud of Sunsun for growing and getting its own TV show since then!

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections

I previously had my Mastodon account bridged to this platform, but thought I'd give hanging out here a shot, as opposed to having my posts mirrored.

About me: I like to draw on paper, I live on a sailboat in the Salish Sea, I love seabirds, making comics, and fermenting vegetables.
a sketchbook open to a page filled with panels for a comic. The art is drawn using pencils and a ballpoint pen, and featured two pointy-eared characters walking through the woods. a sketchbook page showing illustrated sea birds having a conversation using the phonetic alphabet. a self-published book named Wiktopher, the cover features a giant, long legged creature walking in the desert on all fours. A small sailboat(sandfin) is sailing in the sand, going in the opposite direction.

It's a mix! The first one was looking for fresh ideas to prototype in incubation at Rovio, second was an idea a friend and I prototyped after but left on the backburner, and the last one became Flinthook, released on Steam in 2017.

Often these are to look for a game worthy to spend time on!

I love mock-ups so much. It was my first job in the game industry, and it's still what I love doing the most. You learn so much from making these, throwing out ideas quickly, finding opportunities and ideas, at no risk and low cost.
