The original is genuinely wonderful. They made it for beans and Clive was utterly blessed with wonderful craftspeople who genuinely cared and made it look like a million bucks.

Yamamoto has a very elegant, fine fastball. As someone who played a bit of baseball as a young person, I respect watching a pitcher with skill who isn't a wild man.

There's something I find very appealing about the fact that the Dodgers have a translator on staff that they brought to the pitcher's mound for a quick conference. Baseball belongs to everybody.

Did you know that one of the best sports movies ever is a Japanese film about big money corruption in baseball? Masaki Kobayashi was one of the best and this film is spitting bullets with anger.

This is a bit U.S.-centric but to my thinking, PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES is the very best Thanksgiving movie ever. John Candy and Steve Martin are utterly perfect together. The scene where Steve Martin goes utterly ape at the woman at the check-in desk is a masterpiece.
