After what I’ve read tonight, I can not state this strongly enough...Fuck the BBC.

You aren’t a shell of what you used to be, you sold out well and truly, trashing the reputation you once held around the world.

You actively mislead, you gaslight & you don’t deserve another second of anyone’s time.
It gets worse. When it becomes common knowledge that a law isn’t being enforced, it emboldens those who don’t respect it, acting as a catalyst for endemic criminality.
I have an extremely low opinion of BBC News. So low I didn’t think it could get any lower, until I read this.

A baby and 2 toddlers aren’t even important enough for this shell of an organisation to refrain from putting out headline that goes way beyond being misleading.
Their appalling reputation keeps being proved correct.
All 3 are absolutely disgraceful and all 3 are not fit to hold a driving licence, though as you say, Essex Police seem happy enough with their endangering driving.

The first guy is driver ignorance personified and the Tarmac truck driver must have psychopathic tendencies to do that.
Yes that doesn’t surprise me, esp with the majority of motorists not having read the highway code since passing their driving test.
Lots of drivers who’ll prioritise their convenience ahead of a cyclist‘s safety at every given turn. They either lack the perspective of a cyclist and so don’t think they’re doing anything wrong or they just don’t care.
Even had a copper do it whilst I was on the bike last year, which then technically became an oncoming close pass. Doesn’t fill you with much hope when those enforcing the law can’t even adhere to the Highway Code.
Ive definitely noticed it’s becoming more frequent.

The worst offenders are those who barrel through whilst offering a hand gestured apology. As if the choice to barrel through wasn’t totally pre-meditated, which of course it was!
A rule in the Highway Code (163) motorists often fail to adhere to.

If a parked vehicle is on your side of the road and there’s insufficient road space for both vehicles to proceed, then you wait. If you barrel through anyway then I can only presume you got your driving licence from a cereal box.
Eyes fixated on their mobile phone is frighteningly common. The only positive being that knowing how endemic illegal phone is behind the wheel is trains you to not trust drivers, which in turn keeps you safe.
Probably why there’s usually fierce resistance from the loud minority, because they have no argument once the evidence comes.
However carbrained people are it’s very difficult for them to argue against the rationale of less deaths and with various cost and health benefits.
Good to hear the 20mph limit implantation has had further positive impacts.
That’s exactly the issue, they must factor in that they’ll get new customers so don’t really care if they lose some.

Had this issue with car insurers until I finally found one that doesn’t increase their premiums with an extra year’s no claims.
I honestly think they just like being difficult, so I return the favour.

If they can’t comply with 1 simple request with the benefit of a clear warning, then they make it abundantly clear they don’t value my custom. And so the cycle continues.
My last 2 rides have both featured a white male driver pulling out of a side road directly into my path (inattentiveness), then at the last moment stopping realising I’m there.

I don’t think they understand I’d rather not be ahead of a driver that’s just proved their incompetence behind the wheel.
Yes Octopus were my previous supplier who had their 2 strikes.

Another industry full of predatory organisations. They really don’t take well to someone telling them where to go and offering a compromise of sending them a meter reading when I feel like it.
On opening my account with them I told them precisely why I left my my last supplier “oh don’t worry, we won’t do that”. After the first unannounced visit, they promised it wouldn’t happen again.

There surely has to be one energy supplier out there that listens to its customers?! Surely?!
Just had an external contractor turn up unannounced to read my meters, the 2nd time in 3 months. So that’ll be another energy supplier that doesn’t listen, this time Ovo Energy.

Unfortunately tied into a contract with them until Spring next year but will be leaving as soon as that ends.
When I saw the Uijtdebroeks transfer I was initially taken aback. Actually, a really good move for him and for Movistar. He gets a fresh start and a chance to be GC leader with great support, whilst Movistar can relinquish their total reliance on Mas in GT’s (yes I know they have Rubio as well).
In Mike’s strange world it’s possible.
