Disabled lefty shouting into the void.

Living through austerity was one thing when there was at least hope in the opposition. It's so much more dire now. I'll never forgive labour.
It couldn't be that the party that championed the welfare state abandoned it. Seeding news stories to the press to change public opinion in preparation for their raid on the welfare system (that didn't work) - completely throwing disabled people to the wolves... And for what? 16% in the polls?
I've got many problems with the RBL but like... Many veterans are *disabled*. Especially the ones who need to go to the RBL for assistance. There should absolutely be someone who's job it is to make sure they can use the service 🤷🏻‍♂️

Veterans come from all walks of life. All should be included.
I'm not sure if they died off or if I just successfully cut Novara and the optics left sphere out of my life since leaving twitter. God I hated how they dominated discourse all the time. Got jump scared by them on tiktok the other day when scrolling to interact with ppl on my bookbinding account 😅
I'm old enough to remember the northern independence party's ableism crisis. I thought your party might end up doing something similar. Didn't expect them to be copying the playbook! 😬😅

This 💩 is why I preferred the idea of using the greens who've figured out all this basic infrastructure stuff.
This happened to me. I got my MS team who are managing my treatment to send them a letter but I've heard nothing and that was a month ago now. I think they are hoping I'll be too exhausted to kick up a fuss - and I think I am tbh.

There will be no accountability if I get (more) seriously ill 🤷🏻‍♂️
Me too. I do have medical evidence that symptoms from the MS have gotten worse since my last assessment and also the whole removing a chunk of my chest because of cancer which makes using my stick or wheelchair more painful... But you never know with these things 🤷🏻‍♂️ fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Great use of everyone's time! If the DWP want more disabled people to work then maybe they should focus on not sucking the life out of us with every interaction.

Now let me sit in a dark room and recover from that awful hold system they made me listen to for 99% of the call 😖
Been waiting since Jan to hear about my PIP review. Just sat on the phone for an hour to confirm that it's not just the DWP causing delays but serco too! 🙃

Maybe they'll want an assessment. Maybe not 🤷🏻‍♂️ I might be waiting 2 more weeks to find out but idk if that was plucked out of thin air.
At least I've now got an emergency plan with all the supplies ready if this ever happens in the future 😅
How long before "the phrenology van told us they might commit a crime" becomes just cause to detain someone 😬💀
They've just ordered a bunch of nuclear gravity bombs and given the US the okay to deploy theirs to the US airbase near me. They'll be running missions with nukes flying over us just one mistake away from irradiating east Anglia.

Their decision making/risk assessment on nuclear is deeply flawed.
A disability think tank that investigates the barriers to healthcare we face so we have the data to actually fight it.

The T*RFs have got so far in undermining healthcare with some pennies from a certain billionaire. Imagine if someone good had money! 😅
And they never accept their actions in creating or contributing to a crisis.

Parents of dead babies have to campaign for years to get apologies. What hope do we have if we're still alive?

My lottery win fantasies mostly involve ways I could hold the NHS to account. Either with legal funds...
I feel so silly. Relieved of course!! But jeeeez. Spent the last two days in *DREAD*! Completely reworked my bookbinding projects and video release schedule around my cancer coming back... But it was all clear 😂

Now I'm supposed to just continue as normal? What a rollercoaster!
My oncologist brought forward my post scan appointment by nearly two weeks (just 1w post scan) and I immediately interpreted this urgency as "it's back!" and started planning my year around the inevitable surgery I'd need...

Turns out it just got reported early and they wanted to be efficient 😅
I hate how inflexible the NHS is with appts.

I really think it breaches the equalities act and could stand in court - the difficulty being that it's so segmented that a victory wouldn't create the systematic change it needs to give everyone proper access needs.

Sorry you're going through it!
There is not an issue I can think of where labour will do the right thing for citizens over lobbyists.

I don't understand the enthusiasm with which they throw themselves into the centre of situations and side with the people doing the shitty thing.

Never miss an opportunity for bad press.

Thankyou! YouTube and *many* mistakes have taught me 😅 even this project has a few but I'm glad most people aren't spotting them 😂

Sooo.... I did a thing 🫣
Just shared my first bookbinding project: a custom hardcover for Disability Visibility. This book shaped how I see myself as a disabled person — so it felt right to begin here. Full video + reflection on YouTube, linked below.

The stark contrast in cuts for the poor and grants for the wealthy shows just how far labour has strayed from their core values. Instead of being the engine for redistribution they are now accelerating inequality.

Green grants are needed but focus them on countering inequality.
If labour are really in such a sticky financial situation that they have to raid the welfare of children, disabled, and elderly (which I don't accept but it's their messaging) - then why aren't they laser focused on making sure every new scheme can help soften that blow?
£650 could do so much good if focused in the right place. Cars for the wealthy ain't it.

If it went on insulation or heating upgrades for the poor it would play a dual role in reducing the poorest's energy bills whilst also reducing emissions - likely by more than this car scheme.
Making yourself worse off/more uncomfortable out of spite is a very American position to take though! 😂
