That must feel frustrating. In my experience social services have assessment beds at a local(ish) care home and that can buy 6 weeks or so to assess and find a suitable location for her if she is unable to make decisions or live unassisted. Sadly, it’s a slog. The whole system imo is broken, sadly.

Forgive me if you’ve already thought of this but I had the same issue with my mother. The hospital shouldn’t discharge without the involvement of social services - we had to pester them into cooperating with each other.
