A judge in Chicago just flipped the script completely. If ICE agents are caught trying to arrest someone at or around a courthouse, they can now be arrested themselves.Cook County’s top judge made it illegal for ICE to detain anyone inside or even near a courthouse. That includes the steps, sidewalks, parking lots, and entryways. If they try it anyway, they’re violating a court order and that’s contempt of court, which means deputies can step in and take them into custody. This comes after weeks of ICE agents staking out courthouses, waiting for people to show up for hearings and grabbing them on their way in or out. It got so bad that people were skipping court out of fear. Even domestic violence victims were being arrested while trying to get protection orders.Judge Timothy Evans said enough. He signed the order Tuesday night, saying justice depends on people being able to walk into court without fear or obstruction. The Department of Homeland Security called the order “ridiculous,” but Illinois leaders are pushing back. House Speaker Chris Welch says they plan to expand the protection statewide, making courthouses and medical facilities completely off-limits for immigration arrests. The argument is that this isn’t just about immigration. It’s about whether people can safely access justice at all.In Chicago right now, if ICE ignores that order, they’re the ones breaking the law.Do you agree or disagree with what Chicago is doing?👇 Drop your thoughts and follow for more stories that matter.#ChicagoNews #JusticeMatters #ImmigrationRights #CourtReform #BreakingNews #CookCounty #HumanRights #CivilRights #Accountability #RuleOfLaw

States have UNLIMITED POWER to enforce local laws. ICE goons & the Nat Guard are not above the law. When they behave criminally they are subject to arrest like anyone else.
For some reason no mayor or governor has had the guts to protect their citizens by enforcing the law against Trump's thugs.

@blackculturereels Did you know #FBA Black Americans Created Butter Pecan Ice Cream? 🍦 -Back during Jim Crow, Black Americans were often denied vanilla ice cream except on the Fourth of July. Vanilla was seen as ‘pure white,’ and while this was never written into law, it was understood as the status quo during segregation.-Throughout the rest of the year, Black Americans were often limited to only being able to buy chocolate ice cream — even though vanilla was originally Black and a Black man, Edmond Albius. Around that same time, an enslaved man named Antoine developed a method to cultivate pecans as a commercial crop. Pecans became accessible to our people, and our ancestors began mixing them with butter into vanilla ice cream. That way, they could still enjoy variety — and at the same time, that ice cream was no longer seen as ‘pure white.’-The butter pecan flavor caught on, became extremely popular, and to this day it remains a favorite among Black American elders and youth. But most people have no idea that the roots of butter pecan ice cream are tied directly to Black American history and resilience.-I encourage you to research more on this topic if you want to know more since the basics have been provided to you. Butter Pecan ice cream is the topic today. Please do not come on my post making it about anything else or whining about how they don’t teach black history. It’s not their job to teach you your history. They come from people who don’t like you. It doesn’t matter how many times they smile in your face.
