I've been saying it forever: Overwhelm demand with supply of housing and prices will come down. Case in point right here. Denver has built a LOT of #rental housing, and prices have predictably come down, shockingly. Housing is a human right. Housing before #NIMBY s. Build baby build.

The easiest way to get free stuff in Denver right now is to lease a new apartment.

Landlords are ramping up concessions for renters as vacancy rates rise, with some offering 10 weeks of free rent or a free Epic or Ikon ski pass.

I doubt anyone else commenting read your article, but I did. It sounds as though you think forcing MAGA to change Senate rules to get the government open again will have a noticeably more significant impact than making it about health care. Why?
dezaad.bsky.social
They already are finding workers who are willing to for for less than the wage required by the visa rules. This change would simply allow them to do it legally by changing the visa rules.

Indignation for lawless treatment needs to be manifested in real and forceful actions. You can't be arrested unless you break the law, and you can't be removed across state lines unless you are accused of breaking the law and have been extradited.

I think these people might need to aggressively file suit against the government for false arrest immediately upon having been falsely arrested. I think this may be the way to capture and hold the narrative. And a lawsuit for having been taken across state lines as well in this particular case.

It is hilarious how so many erstwhile #crypto #libertarians couldn't see how the anonymity of crypto would certainly be used by corrupt people to facilitate corruption. Gosh. It turns out law enforcement has a role to play in society after all.

4/ Finally, as a consequence it is almost sociopathic for tech titans to manipulate people into believing this is what is necessary to achieve great things. I would just ask then "Do we really need more 'great things' that badly, that it costs this human toll to achieve?"
dezaad.bsky.social
3/ And ffs, at what cost? Plan ahead: On my death bed, will I think I am awesome because I helped create something like Amazon - for which no one will remember me personally? Or will I be contented/serene because I spent some time building the relationships in my life with loved ones? #greatness ?

2/ start making mistakes that are too costly down the road. There is NO WAY that it is humanly possible for sustained 60 hours a week optimal productivity. This is a lie important (and not so important) people tell themselves, probably to feed their own egos about the importance of what they do.
dezaad.bsky.social
1/ So many questionable things in this article, but one of them is the notion that the sweet spot of #productivity is actually around 60 hours a week. I can believe that it indeed is that number when a person is being passionate and it is in the short term. But, in the long haul, I believe people

Charlie Kirk did directly state that gays being stoned to death was god’s perfect law. You can‘t get around this fact.

This is why I call them MAGA Justices rather than ‘originalist’ or ‘textualist’. They have no jurisprudence principles.

2. So, since it is also correct to use just “you” when one really does mean the recipient specifically, I had to guess with the context of the conversation being my imperfect guide. Heavy sigh.
dezaad.bsky.social
1. Yes, I suppose you did use the current, correct, and confusing usage for what you meant. One wonders how one would clearly convey one did mean me personally without the wordy ‘you personally” phrase. But, alas, the language police were defunded and castrated long ago.

Why would you ever balance politics into your health decisions? Or personal experience into specifically autism related health decisions? People are whacked.

2. even consume sugar, LOL.

1. That is likely true for people who drink soda, which is not me. But it doesn’t address the point. They haven’t yet established which direction the causation flows for the association between depression and soda.

Oh, you thought I was defending my own desire to drink soda? Your bad. I don’t

Can we say “half of Trump’s supporters are a basket of deplorables” yet? The core group…
dezaad.bsky.social
Oh ffs. Maybe being depressed leads to soda intake! Look to see whether they controlled for that possibility. (doesn’t look like it). I know for certain that when I personally am stressed, it affects what I consume. I know this is true for others from other studies.

RFK is making a thorough reality of the idea that publicly available medical knowledge will be in service to corporate profits. If you gut government involvement, the only thing left to generate research is corporations. Hint: it costs money and takes people to do research.

‘Mistrust’ doesn’t have to mean ‘wild eyed paranoia’. I mistrust institutions too. And the Tyrant isn't attempting to reform them or dissolve them. He’s corrupting them to be in service to enriching and serving him personally. No one else like this Navy Seal will benefit.

The threat that atheists represent in the world right now is so minor, I am surprised it could draw and keep your attention long enough to post about it. Relatively speaking, I mean.
dezaad.bsky.social
But right now, today, we don’t have Stalin. Despite any slights you’ve been inflicted with by online atheists, objectivity demands attention on who is the biggest actual threat. We have this:
MAGA's plan for a white Christian America is unfolding before our eyes
Their ambitions were on full display at the National Conservatism Conference

3. by atheist and agnostic parents, discovered religion on my own and became very strident in it, and then had an exceedingly difficult crisis of belief where I very much wanted to believe, but objectively could no longer sustain it. And I have studied many religions along the way.

2. lot of the latter. And then there are those who were raised as atheists and haven’t experienced as much direct harm from religion, and tend to have the least animosity to it. You’d probably like the company of this type the best, in general.

In a way, I am a blend of all three. I was raised
