Less believable to me but there may be more to the symbol than I know. Gut estimate the SS bolts are maybe 5x more known than the skull? There aren’t a lot of other SS symbols i dont think.

I didn’t know. Just asked a smart guy at work who did know and he said he doesn’t think most people do. But the proof is in the pudding as they say. People have seen it, many are saying they had no idea. People don’t know how many people live in our country today. Lots of stuff people don’t know.

If I really had to guess what happened I would say Platner and his crew knew what it was at the time and got it because they were dehumanized killers and identified with it. He regretted it at some point, but was more concerned with his other actions and the tattoo was a symbol of what he did

When did you learn about it? Lots of people who are closer movie watchers than me it seems. I think I’ve always known about skull and crossbones in general, but the specific one I don’t ever remember coming up

I only care if he knew at the time he got it. He’s probably more likely to have known than most at the time too but there’s no real certainty from anyone on that.
