The research phase in writing is always fun. Hope its going well. I've not read Conn Igguldan, though I have of course heard of him. I'll check it out. Happy writing 🙂
@thejcjones.bsky.social hi and a warm welcome to our Devon Book Club community. What great books have you read lately?
@chelseaman.bsky.social hi Stephen and a warm welcome to our Devon Book Club community..Any great reads lately you can share with us?
I'm so sorry. I've had a family bereavement and arranged a host but forgot she is only on X!

Well, that's our hour up. Once again, thank you for your friendship and company and we'll see you again next Monday #devonbookhour
Sounds really interesting #devonbookhour
I said I'd announce the winner of this week's giveaway tonight but my day ran away with me so will do so tomorrow now. If you didn't enter it's well worth getting hold of a copy. #devonbookhour
I mentioned a gentle challenge earlier - not my original thought but I've seen a thread running today where people post titles of 10 books that 'show who they are'. I love that idea and am thinking of running a theme around that. What do you think? #devonbookhour
The month for horror books - I've got to say, I've never really been drawn to them. What do you think it is that people love about the genre? #devonbookhour
It's got off to a strong start and is very well written. What was your wife's project? #devonbookhour
That would be really good. Be lovely to catch up again #devonbookhour
I remember you started those last week. Good that they are holding your interest #devonbookhour
She is Palestinian - I hadn't heard of her but her book is about the diaspora, rather then talking about the conflict #devonbookhour
Liking the sound of that. I get very frustrated by the standard of much 'debate' on socila media #devonbookhour
Love the cover on Ghost Mountain but not read it. There Are Rivers In The Sky @elifshafak.bsky.social , as always with her writing, is wonderful #devonbookhour
Tender maps has started well - the writer (who is from Bristol) is discussing the atmospher of place and how we find it/relate to it. The other is memoir really, written by a Palestinian woman who has left Palestine and explores the Palestinian diaspora in a very engaging way #devonbookhour
Actually, that has had to be put on hold due to a serious family health issue (my sister) - cancelled/postponed flights and accommodation today. Japan will still be there but a little later than planned #devonbookhour
That sounds thought-provoking. Certainly need to bring more balance to discourse and greater tolerance. What are her suggestions? #devonbookhour
haha - let's arrange a moment and maybe I can come down your way this time 😀#devonbookhour
That's a great title - distant in more ways than one I imagine? #devonbookhour
Hiking with Nietszche is written by a philosopher who traces Nietzches steps in Switzerland. So lots of walking but also thoughtful, accessible, philosophy #devonbookhour
