GW8 Championship - Brentford beat Villa in a top of the table clash, Mateta and Haaland of Newcastle destroy Wolves, Leeds manage to overcome Southampton and Liverpool win the battle of the bottom against Forest. Villa, Newcastle and Brentford all tied at the top of the table!
GW8 results PL - Wrexham demolish bottom of the league Peterborough, Swansea dominate Oxford, Brighton edge out Arsenal to go second and Everton get a big win at Goodison against Manchester City. Swansea stay top, while Brighton maintain their great form.
Deuce history - 2020-21 season saw the closest finish to a league season. Despite losing to Luton on the final day and Shrewsbury winning, Swansea won their first and only league title on points difference. Manchester City and Wrexham were only 3 points behind the top two.
Swansea and Brighton are joint top, a fantastic start for Brighton to the PL. Wrexham sink to third and face Manchester City next weekend. Oxford languish in fifth but with Isak and Saka are expected to climb the table. Peterborough desperately need a win to kick start their campaign.
Premier League GW5 - Champions Wrexham lose back to back games, Oxford winning this week. Brighton still continue to impress beating City at the Amex. Peterborough remain rooted to the bottom after defeat at Everton while Swansea just overcame an impressive Arsenal team at home.
Villa remain top but are joined by Newcastle, Southampton drop down a place. Forest are finally off the bottom of the table at Liverpools expense.
Championship GW5 - Fine margins! Forest get their first win of the season with the narrowest of victories over Brentford. Wolves equally managed to narrowly beat Southampton for another win. Villa finally lose a game to Leeds Utd and Newcastle had enough to beat Liverpool at Anfield.
Lows for Liverpool in GW5 as they crashed to Newcastle in the league and non league Porstmouth in the League Cup. Highs for Brighton as they go joint top of the PL beating Man City and thrashing Puskas Akademia in the Conference League.
The top 10 scoring players so far this season, interestingly 3 of the top 10 are defenders - Timber, Chalobah and Calafiori. Haaland leads the way on 94.75 pts.
Champions League preview - Wrexham also face Northern irish opposition as they visit Belfast to play Linfield in what should be a one sided affair. Swansea Citys excellent start to the season could be put to the test as they host RB Leipzig.
Europa League preview - Manchester City will be expected to dominate Larne who visit from Northern Ireland. Peterborough fans will be hoping for some joy away from their poor Premier League start as Lille visit London Road.
Euro Conference League preview - Everton off to top of the table Red Star in a tough tie. Brighton host Hungarians Puskas Akademia at the Amex. Oxford travel to Norway to try and pick up a win on the road at Molde.
League Cup MD2 on GW5 - Villa and Arsenal the big game of the round in Group B. Southampton and Wolves meet in a double header in the league and cup. Newcastle need to bounce back after a shock loss to Crawley on MD1. Forest and Liverpool will want wins to assuade their league woes.
Despite injuries to Delap, Colwill and misfiring Sesko Aston Villa have started the season well and have dominated so far. Remains to be seen if they can carry through their great start for the remaining 31 league games.

Villa will also be expected to challenge for League and Griggs Cup.
GW4 Championship round up - Aston Villa march on with a big win at Forest and are 3 points clear. Thanks to Haaland Newcastle saw off a tough Leeds challenge at home. Brentford posted a huge score against Southampton to lay down a marker. Wolves earned back to back wins, beating Liverpool.
GW4 PL round up - Swansea win the first Welsh derby of the season against champions Wrexham. City come from behind to see off Peterborough at London Road. Arsenal edge out Everton in the narrowest of wins by 0.5 pts! Brightons great start continues with a win at Oxford. Four way tie at the top!
Championship preview - Top of the table Villa visit bottom of the table Forest. Southampton and Brentford battle each other to maintain momentum in the league. Leeds have a tough away day at Newcastle. Wolves travel to Anfield to try and get a second league win, against Liverpool.
Premier League preview - Top two Swansea and Wrexham meet for the firs time this season. Peterborough will be hoping for first points against City. Everton go to Arsenal, the Toffees still looking for a win. Brighton visit Oxford in what could be a close encounter.
GW3 - Wrexham beat Everton and are now 3 points clear at the top. Peterborough remain botttom as they lose again to Arsenal. Man City stumble at home to Oxford while Swansea overcome an impressive Brighton at the Amex.
Grealish, Chalboah and Bruno were top scorers on Saturday, GW3 continues today!
Euro Conf League MD2 - Oxford will want to arrest their rocky start to the season with a win in Frankfurt after losing to Lech Poznan on MD1. An all DD clash between Brighton and Everton, a repeat of the same league fixture last week where Brighton came out on top.
Europa League MD2 - Man City host Bor. Dortmund off the back of their MD1 win against Ludogorets. European debutants Peterborough Utd face French outfit Nice at London Road in hopes of another win.
Champions League - Wrexham head to AC Milan on MD2 looking to make it two wins from two. Swansea travel to Israel to meet Hapoel Beer-Sheva in a game they should win easily.
