Large language models are sloppy messes inside. I’m not surprised they can easily contort to deceptively market, disinform, and promote harmful behaviors.

Yeah, I’m an AuDHD’er and this movie comes to mind all the time, as I have to repeat to myself 100 times per day “What the hell am I actually in the middle of doing?!” It’s incredibly frustrating.

Oh wow. I learned about the “Gish Gallop” from Eugenie Scott, but I had no idea she coined the phrase.

Gish Gallop is a debate tactic where Dwayne Gish rattled off so many misleading points his opponents could never respond to them all.

Now it’s common parlance in online debate culture.

Has YouTube fixed this issue now?

YouTube’s functionality has been in flux (for better and worse) since the day it launched. Even though this seems quite bad it’s likely to change again for the better at some stage.

Hopefully sooner than later, but then it’ll become bad again, rinse-and-repeat.
