Yeah, I hear you there. Goolashe, the husband, also has had those interview struggles and the market being awful, as well as hearing it online on things like Shorts, TikTok, etc.. It's fucking rough. :( I really hope you can find something soon, and get these off your back, too. I'm rooting for you.

Legit only reason I got mine was because I went out of country, where I spent 60% LESS than staying -in my own state- for a similar degree. Absolutely bonkers. This system's awful and I cannot imagine it now, 15 years later. Working in it, you're stronger than I am. I'd be so stressed for people. :<

It took ten years, and I will fully admit I did have to ask for help at multiple points. I barely crawled over the finish line, it feels like, and would have very likely failed without the kindness of friends and the furry community. Which is why I want to share it. Thank you all, so much. 😭💚🍻

Unrelated to art, I got this in my inbox today. I know it isn't much, when there are others struggling with theirs, but for someone with an art degree that was told they were making a bad choice... This means a lot to me. I hope some day we can actually just forgive them all and fix this system, tho

i just realized the way i type this implies i don't think arux is handsome either which isnt true because that character definitely is too there are so many handsome characters in the fandom aw heck i really am not immune to propaganda (anthro men)

It's definitely the arena's fault for me. Tight quarters and lots of elevation meant the units I like (mages) did worse and I was never good at planning around that.

I think the closest I got was when I brought Geomancers once, but they wound up crumbling too quickly to pressure. :< Kid me was sad.

On the other, so many stuck playthroughs on his fight. I never, ever beat FFT because of it. I restarted that game probably four or five times and every time, he slapped me down no matter how I built my units.

On a medically anomalous third hand, belias... 💚👀🥴

A sketch for Arux ("dragonf-cker" on FA)! Summer's winding down, but that doesn't mean we can't still enjoy some of the warmer days down by the pier when they come around~

If you mean the AppFlyer thing? From my understanding, having missed that event myself, they walked back the program within a day and deleted it/any info collected, and restored the old EULA. Looks like they addressed it here. (July 24, 2023 announcement) - steamcommunity.com/games/118437...

I mostly just run casual matches against randoms. Even in a massive losing streak like last night, I prefer to keep on rematching for the practice against a consistent opponent so I can learn their habits or recognize strings from their characters. At least until one of us needs to head out.

okay thats enough sitting around not wanting to go to bed. I will try and post some of the finished art starting tomorrow with a piece on FA (it's a bit much for here on Bluesky). And then, hopefully, also finish Cad's character piece! I think it's on track if tomorrow goes well.

It's probably anxiousness/stress, yeah. I've always had a latent anxiety, that gets worse in smaller group settings or when eyes are on me. And that translates to online play in games. It's probably a deeper issue, honestly! but i cannot resist the allure of the punchies ;u; theyre so funnn

I want that. :') Been in and out of fighting games since SF4. Dozens of hours in each game practicing, hitting walls, eventually losing morale in online matches and moving on until the next one catches my eye. I'd like to say eventually it became natural, but my W/L records disagree, hah!

Yup yup yup! Been learning Blitzcrank, can pull off a couple decent 10-ish hit combos in practice. Go online, first match, immediately forget how to do the strings I warmed up on, and oh how do you input a special again, ah fuck i used my ult i just wanted a super, barely avoid getting perfected oof

For sure. And I know I can! I don't expect to be a pro out the gate. Just get annoyed when I go to practice, learn reliable things and their muscle memory, then go online and it's right out the window even after a dozen+ hours. My brain just shuts off. Still fun games, but frustrating as hell.

and my fingers start mis-inputting. Then I panic. But take me out of there, back to practice, and I'll be okay again. I just cannot get past that weird wall in my brain! They're fun games still, but I think I just don't like looking at my hours spent, and then seeing how I'm near/at bottom rank. :')

Just kinda feel like I should be able to see some sort of small improvement, somewhere, in one of the fighters I've played over the decade. I don't want to just mash, though, because I don't find it fun. I like the skill expression and combo knowledge! I just... can't execute. My brain shuts off--

No need to apologize! This is all true, but for whatever reason, my brain will just not make it stick, and my dexterity goes out the window against real people, every time. All the way back to SF4, and the dozen of hours spent practicing there after school, aha. It's just... annoying? Demoralizing?
