Slightly frustrating afternoon. Drafted a blog post only to figure out right at the end of the process that it's not really a blog post I want but a rewrite of one of my webpages.

Cleaned up the tagging on the blog section of my website and cleared out some broken external links. Definitely earned a cup of tea and a biscuit.
The last couple of days feel like they've been very unproductive but I've done some useful thinking about stuff I've got coming up and how to refine my freelance offer so that's OK I think...
(That ? should have been a !)
We dug out our As Seen on TV dvd the other day (to watch the sublime Patrica Routledge as Kitty) and it's a 12 if that's any indication of anything. I'm pretty sure lots of it would have still flown over my head at 12 but the potential for awkward questions definitely exists?
I've got that on my list to catch up with!
Mastermind is tomorrow too so they've literally shunted the whole lot over!
OC and University Challenge are on tomorrow instead so we get a delayed quizzy Monday.
My latest blog post for @johnrayinitiative.bsky.social unpacks the research from @climateoutreach.bsky.social on Britain Talks Climate and Nature and what it might mean for Christian environmental groups.
How do we communicate climate change effectively? Are different approaches better for different groups of people? Check out our new blog on "Britain Talks Climate and Nature 2025", a resource to help those working on environmental issues communicate more effectively. jri.org.uk/telling-a-be...

There's so much about food in TLTWATW that's a reaction against rationing - there's lots of butter and rich food.
This is genius.
This is such a clever idea on taking kids to museums/galleries
www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...
Nadia from London has an idea that sounds such fun you'll be booking a day out asap.
"I've always loved museums," she says,
"but they can be overwhelming for children. For decades now, I've done something called 'playing postcards'
We do
the museum backwards, visiting the gift shop first. Each child gets to choose three postcards. Then they take it in turns to find that particular artwork in the museum and give us a little information about the piece from the details on the postcard, or from any gallery plaque. At the end of this treasure-hunt-style activity, we vote for our favourite in the cafe."
Facebook is awash with them - it's terrifying.
In which I revisit ‘The Animals of Farthing Wood’ and wish I hadn’t. I have a feeling I may ruffle some feathers with this one.

Keighley (which only comes up because of its proximity to Haworth, which Americans also consistently mispronounce)
Keighley and Haworth make a good combination for catching people out.
Handed in my notice this morning so I'll be full time freelance from January. Simultaneously exciting and terrifying. Taking the afternoon off to recover my nerves 😂

A fine piece of writing there from Sam Leith
Party donor Nick Candy says "I cherish the values we grew up with here in the West. But today you are more likely to find the values we grew up with in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.’

Not helped by the fact that my brain insists on putting the lyrics to What Child is This? to Greensleeves, so it's an unseasonal earworm to boot.
