Really enjoyed Rockin' Bob's Dionne article today. I only own a few studio albums and various compilations. This one from 64 is fabulous. I really should buy those albums I'm missing. Cos really...
While I'm here. Don't own many Yves albums, but this I bought in a charity shop many years ago. Like Brel, Dean Martin, maybe even Jake Thackeray. The look of him. Fabulous.
I'm listening to this, based on that Baker's Dozen. I mean, Legrand was so incredibly talented. Don't think I've ever bought a duff album. Only the other weekend I bought another copy of the Streisand album he did.
Weather appropriate (ish). Small group sessions inspired by big bands, an idea from a Stanley Turrentine Basie album. Old fashioned stuff, maybe. But, good start.
Dory Langdon The Leprechauns Are Upon Me. Croydon Municipal reissue 2013. Vocal jazz, more Beverly Kenney than say Helen Merrill. Sometimes, she plays it straight. Other times, off the wall. Fabulous album.
