THE MASTERMIND is another of Kelly Reichardt's investigations into the failure of masculine entitlement and certainty, with excellent, ironic use of Josh O'Connor's magnetic screen presence. This is one of my favorites of 2025.

Diane Keaton, what a loss. She had such an infectious smile and laugh. Despite her charmed persona, she could also deliver rare, dark performances that showed she was capable of going there. But her legacy will be her Annie Hall types, because everyone fell in love with her. She's a true original.

GOOD BOY is a little scary and very cute. As the title suggests, its star, Indy, is a good boy. And given the 73-minute runtime, it's hard not to recommend a watch.
