The system has been in trouble since the very early 2000s. It's been nigh impossible to replace the retiring controllers with new trainees all this time, and now we've crossed a brink that may be unrecoverable.

All 20 available 30s exposures were stacked, resulting in a total of 10 minutes integration time. The long exposure is the reason why the stars are elongated.

The location of the comet is where it was expected according to the orbital elements from the MPC.
