"Oh." His hand remained bleeding before he felt it start to cool on his skin.

"Damn- Just-" He pulled it, ready to try and wrap the wound.

Aymeric doesn't pull away or flinch, his only tell of the pain the slight grimace in his face as the blood wells up and pools on his skin before Estinien licks it away.

"I confess, not exactly sure what else it may taste like." His free hand pulled out a handkerchief.
"Was it... to your liking?"

//If you write sex to get off you are missing the most prime opportunity to explore them as a person and examine them under the proverbial microscope.

You don't have to, but on god nothing beats giving your character a mental deep dive as they're balls deep in their lover.

Sex scenes are almost never "gratuitous" or "unnecessary." You learn things about characters and relationships during sex that you can't really learn any other way, such as whether they're into fisting.
