Fiinally figured out Trump's motivation for the Maxwell gambit. It is NOT just change the subject. 1-Trump's DOJ tells her (and may already have done so), that if she exonerates Trump and faces perjury, he pardons her. 2-she lies to Congress. Then Trump uses her as his cover. Eric Adam's redux.

In econ jargon, we call those "public goods".

Trump's #tariffs 5-5. The result is that the dictator and the dictator’s friendly oligarchs can continue in power and not fear a backlash from the victims (i.e., us). If Hitler did it, and Putin is doing it, why can’t con-man Donald and his oligarch friends do it too?

Trum's #tariffs 4:4.The big wealth transfer increases political power of the dictator (con-man Donald) and his friendly oligarchs, thus making it harder for the rest of us to resist politically.

Trump's #tariffs 3 Financing transfer by higher taxes is not politically feasible but financing by our paying for tariffs is. Voters can be conned by bogus pro-tariffs arguments such as:"U.S. is being “ripped off” by other countries;AND tariffs will “bring manufacturing jobs back to U.S.

Trump #tariffs 2
2.This transfer can’t be done just by the U.S. borrowing more money because of the debt limit and since at some point doing so becomes very expensive (that is, when the rest of the world no longer wants to buy our debt unless they get really high interest payments from the U.S.).

Trump’s #tariffs plan is his biggest con ever. Chris Hayes, Lawrence O’Donnell and the WSJ think it’s a stupid plan. They’re WRONG and here’s why (in 5 posts-too long for 1)

1. Trump and Musk and his billionaire bros want to transfer as much wealth as possible from us ordinary folk to themselves.
