I still don't know how to find people I know on Bluesky.
He will end up releasing them, but all references to him or his people will be removed. And he will claim they were never there, even if there are digital fingerprints. And his followers will simply believe him, because: brainwashing.
Jimmy Swaggart, know liar and crummy person, died today, reminding us of a time when Republicans cared about hypocrisy.
Did any world leader think he was credible? Does anybody?
It doesn’t matter that this Senator or that Cabinet member recently talked about how the President cannot unilaterally enter into war.

They. Are. Hypocrites.

Their response is—this was a measured strike, not a declaration of war. All is good with the king; the king did it, it must be good.

Balkan Express, LLC, a trucking, ground transport, and logistics company out of Texas, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy yesterday.

It is the first to specifically cite the #tariffs and their effect on the supply chain as the reason for filing for bankruptcy relief.
At today’s #RallyForTheRuleOfLaw in Foley Square, NYC:

“It’s not the words of our enemies we remember, it’s the silence of our friends. Right now, we must not be silent.”

Lawyers stood together and publicly renewed their commitment to the Constitution and the rule of law.

Paraphrasing: “At this break the glass moment, we lawyers must do something to protect the rule of law.”

That wasn’t a good move, imho. Probably financially motivated and not driven by ethics, morals, or an eye toward the future (in most cases).

But Harvard standing up is a good sign. Not everyone has rolled over.
It is truly terrifying. The collapse of law will be the collapse of society. And it’s a snowball rolling down hill. This will help it gain speed and mass. Shit.
This, on the heels of the administration essentially saying they can arrest anyone at any time for no reason.
NO NO NO NO NO. The best strategy is to give people something to vote FOR. Focusing on reasons to vote AGAINST loses elections. Do things to help working people in tangible ways. And get headlines for centrists, not the far left.
You guys, I’m beginning to think that maybe Trump isn’t such a good person.

The Trump administration has halted a program providing nearly 26,000 children with immigration lawyers. Some are just months old, and many don’t have parents or legal guardians in the U.S.

Does any of this matter any more? It doesn’t matter what she says. She can lie. She can state awful truths. She will be confirmed regardless. The GOP is a pathetic pack of sycophants too stupid or too spineless to evaluate any candidate in the merits.
So… who do people sue when the inevitable identity theft results?
Weird how people believe conspiracies about the rich company trying to control the government, but with Elon actually doing it, they’re silent…

(…except to defend that it is not a cult.)
Imagine feeling so threatened by gay people that you’re ok with veterans dying?
It turns out that correctly telling people things will get worse under Trump was not as important as telling them the fairy tale they wanted to believe.
It was never about the actual price of anything. It was always about giving people scapegoats and telling them you have the answers and they’ll be alright.

That’s all it takes to be elected by a willfully under-informed populace for whom things haven’t been great.

My point is, we are not having the same conversation.

They believe things like immigration, DEI, etc. are the issues.

Trying to convince them that immigrants are humans or people of color deserve equality doesn’t move the needle.

We’re talking past them, but what else can we do?
Two conversations with different people in different circumstances today. Both told me all the problems with health care, high prices, jobs, etc. are due to undocumented immigrants (“illegals,” they said).

This pervasive propaganda has penetrated deeply and is defended vehemently and irrationally.
Yeah, that’s consistent with my interactions too.
