💀⚡ A Monster Reborn ⚡💀

For Hammer Films’ brand-new release of The Curse of Frankenstein, I had the honour — through Igor Studios, the special makeup FX branch of House of Igor — of recreating Phil Leakey’s original Frankenstein monster makeup. Hammer Films have just released the first images

Come, sit down, who, or indeed… what, would you like to be today?
Back and unpacking from the latest shoot, tired but feeling good about how everything went. Thanks to the Excellent Igor Studios team! You all rock!
Starting my Saturday with Otley—a cracking 1969 spy comedy starring Tom Courtenay. Think The Wrong Man meets The Ipcress File, but with a touch of swinging ’60s charm. Perfect way to start the day before heading to work. The sun’s out, the sky’s blue, and I’ve got lifecasts and clay waiting for me
I know. It’s disturbing eh? Also the cinematography is ghastly.
Morning all, from Igor Studios workshop diner.

That would be the wonderful Hugh Keays-Byrne (R.I.P.) who was also the main bad guy in the very FIRST Mad Max film... and one of the NICEST people I've ever had the privilege of working with! Right, @daveelseyfx.bsky.social?
Hugh Keays-Byrne, in makeup/costume for his Farscape character "Grunchlk", posing for a pic with his arms around me (on his right) and Dave Elsey (on his left).
Morning all, nice to see the Sunday morning sun beaming through the window.
Enjoying a hot cuppa in our little workshop Kitchen, “Igor’s Diner’. Then back to painting a head. It’s been a nice week at Igor Studios.
What are YOU looking at?
Thinking of selling these Omen-ous dagger replicas. What do you think, would people buy them?

Thanks to everyone for the birthday 🥳 wishes! Having a lovely day. Look what I got! It’s HUGE and so much more detailed than this snap can capture ! Even the paper texture is perfect. Beautiful artwork by the excellent Richard Wells!
Just found this and quite pleased with it. This is a woman wearing a prosthetic makeup to pass as a man. THAT was a fun job!
With the exciting news that Hammer Films are back in business,I was reminded of the time I was asked to recreate Peter Cushing using prosthetics on actor Wayne Pygram. Star Wars Revenge of the Sith. Christopher Lee was also in the film! www.imdb.com/title/tt0121...

MQ: Well, honestly, it definitely made me laugh in moments, but that was because I had had the best team to put it on this, this British couple named Lou and Dave [Elsey] that were a married couple that would just crack me up.
The hat is back! Farscape fun! Great creature costume by Lou Elsey
I remember seeing this at the time. Rather than being scared, I was thrilled by the idea that not far away from where I lived, Ghostly happenings were …well, happening!https://youtube.com/watch?v=_iqvDOEcjsM

Fabulous. The ghostbuster guys, are more terrifying than any spook!
“It’s just a head dad!”
Ha! Remember these during the Bionic Man craze? I had to own them. Put them on. Totally unconvincing, then they fell off.
I thought, even I could do better than THAT! Cut to me at 56, surrounded by masks.
