Newly retired Music fanatic. Local music historian. For previous 5 years managed the oldest Arts Centre in the UK but I'm not sure how that happened.

The follow-up may be even better....
First saw her in Woody's "Play It Again Sam" and was instantly smitten. She was the best foil for Woody's neurotic characters and her comic timing was second to none. If "Annie Hall" was Woody's best film, she was the main reason for it's success.
Emotionally beautiful......original is pretty darn good too.
Who else on BBC radio would follow Barclay James Harvest with Ray Charles? 😄
Morning Cerys. The Dylan track..... Wow! And this was an out-take?
Sorry to be a know-it-all but Dr.Feelgood got their name from another song called "Doctor Feelgood" recorded in 1964 by Johnny Kidd & The Pirates. Wilko was a huge fan of Mick Green, the Pirates guitar player...... 😀😀
Ah…..good point. It’s best to read the post BEFORE replying not afterwards. 🙄🙄😀
One of my favourite songs......ever.
It's an important album. Shows maturity both lyrically and musically. If you can, listen to the album again by concentrating on the production and the arrangements and you'll get some idea as to where Wilson is heading....
It’s a great book. Bought a copy!
My memory is failing me. Was it you?
This begs another question. Have you toured with that book? If so we may have met. I booked someone to promote it at my local Arts Centre in Bridgwater when I used to manage it. It was about 2 or 3 years ago. The very same Centre that I saw Jake at…
I have the 2 CD set of “Live Performance”. Did you write the book “Beware Of The Bull”? It was that someone else? Sorry if I’ve got you mixed up with someone else.
I grew up with Thackray via his appearances on The Braden Beat. All my family loved his wit. He was the first person I ever saw perform live. That was at my local Arts Centre with my parents. 1976 I think it was. Glad that he is appreciated a lot more than he was when he was alive.

Hi Cerys. Spooky synchronicity strikes again. I had an inkling you would play some Jake Thackray today.... Weird..
I'd put that track in my Top 10 Beach Boys songs...it's a wonderful piece of music....
Blimey. I’ve been there to see Laura Cantrell twice. Weird to see the advertisements for the bingo on the notice board beforehand. Whatever happened to Joanna Newsom anyway? Can you remember who the main act was?
I saw Joanna at the Colston Hall (as it was called then) with Roy Harper as support. Memorable.
I went to see Robyn Hitchcock in Bristol once and was a MONTH early!😀
Looking forward to next week Cerys. I think I own pretty much every book that Peter Guralnick has written. BTW what are the chances of getting Gwenifer Raymond on your show? A spellbinding Welsh acoustic guitarist... Thx
Hi Cerys! Good to have you back.
Nice choice! If it were me I would go for Dylan, Revolver, Otis, Emma and.......Abbey Road? Like you said tough to pick out just 5.
