Lac Érié est le moins profond des Grands Lacs et qu’il se réchauffe plus rapidement, ce qui le rend plus vulnérable aux proliférations d’algues nuisibles.

#DYK Lake Erie is the shallowest of the Great Lakes, and it warms up fast, making it more vulnerable to harmful algal blooms?

Lake Erie Volunteer Science Network is tracking water conditions to help us all better understand these risks. Explore their data on DataStream: doi.org/10.25976/z4a...

It's the season for changing leaves, apple picking, and pumpkin spice lattes—and none of those favorite fall colors, flavors, and activities would be possible without nature. Now is the time to protect nature and everything it does for us: https://wwf.to/42jItZF.

Do you know why the leaves change colour in the fall? 🍂

As the days get shorter, less sunlight is photosynthesized by the leaf. This signals to the leaf to stop making chlorophyll.

Once this happens, the green colour starts to fade and the reds, oranges, and yellows in the leaf shine through.
