Feel free to use any ideas you see here, or to ask any questions or offer critique.

Enjoy, and thanks for reading!
nothing Yet unfortunately. They do have new models for the arcane guardians, but no blood magic stuff really. Though maybe we will see something in Astalor’s sex dungeon when Prey gets implemented and his sanctum is finished.
I’m glad you like them! :D

Now, if you read all or at least most of the Haranir lore available on Alpha right now, and THEN you want to make critique give feedback on what you see as problematic? Hell yeah. I've seen some of that already and its great.

But unfortunately some people aren't doing that lol
-behavior in game before giving said commentary, even if there was some stuff that was coming in a later patch. That's not something that can be anticipated.

In the Haranir example, making snap conclusions on the Haranir's history before actually reading their history doesn't seem very helpful.
I definitely see your point. I'm not against critique on small snippets and stuff like that, but I just think people should be as informed about something as possible before they start giving feedback.

Like the Wrathion example, they made sure there wasn't anything later that explained his-
There's also the fact of the matter that the devs are only human. Feedback that ends up being completely useless to the developers, but someone still needs to read it. That takes time.

Now imagine having to find the 100 pointless paragraphs when you have 1000 to read. That's not very helpful!
I also don't think Gil or I are saying "Wait and see until the Haranir are live to give feedback."

I think we are saying "Wait and see until you've actually read more than one or two blocks of lore text with no context before jumping to conclusions."
I think? The real issue here is that most people don't think criticism and complaints are the same thing, when they really could not be more different when it comes to giving feedback for creative works.
I don't think its a matter of harshness (though common human decency would hope that harsh criticism is at least civil). It's a matter of truth vs assumption

Informed constructive criticism is very different from reactionary commentary on incomplete info

I think my literature degree is showing lol
I think Alpha is the perfect time to give feedback!

And I think plenty of people (you most DEFINITLEY included) are extremely good at giving feedback. It is measured and informed.

But far too often, I see making assumptions on incomplete info. That's not criticism; that's just panic.
If they DONT, then that incorrect information stews and continues to spread, causing disinformation and panic where it doesn't need to be.

In a perfect world, your model would work wonders! But sadly, we don't live in a perfect world.
I also think there *can* be harm done, too.

Far too many people see a thing they Think is Bad from alpha, assume it is True, and then write it into their brains as Fact.

If that Thing is later changed or has further context, it now counts on that person SEEING the further context or change.
Sharing WORRIES based on incomplete information? Also fine. But I've seen far too many people read a single line of text out of context and say "WoW as we know it is over and Blizzard has personally impaled me on a spike and laughed as I bled out of my eyes" to say there's no harm in doing that
I gotta side with Gil on this one.

Feedback is great. But hyper reactionary crash outs based on incomplete information doesn't help anyone. If anything, it feeds false interpretations of events and fuels distrust in the community.

That stops being feedback and starts becoming detrimental.
Oh now THAT is a Mage Tower™️
Technically they DID change course!

It went from Harronir to Haranir
When you have a name you REALLY like
I always just assumed they ascended to the status of Loa through different means, since we see several different types of beings that are worshipped as Loa, including elementals, Wild Gods, etc.
That's an interesting theory. Most people don't equate the Loa like Bwonsamdi and Mueh'zala to the Wild Gods, but I guess you do have a point - people are also animals.
DAMN SYLVANAS IS LAYING DOWN BARS THOUGH?

"Quel'thalas needs a Windrunner. So go, Arator. Be a Windrunner."
That is an interesting theory; you are right about the racial, they can teleport to Haranir or back to any of the World Trees through their respective Root areas in the zone.
So that's kinda a theory of mine as well. That he and some of the first Loa were not actually trolls, but rather, a progenitor race of them (essentially the ancient Haranir)

Their group simply stayed topside-ish and started worshipping the Loa, while the others went deep underground.
