Yeah. I remember when NOVA and DC had the worst road signage I've ever seen. Some parts of Arlington, SE and North DC could get confusing fast. And Sligo road in MD, along with Greenbelt could make a person want to wait until morning.

He received the exam back disappointed to get a C on it, more disappointed the professor admonished him write on both sides of a page in the future.

1 Friends and I met a blind man in a bar and realized he was too drunk to walk home. He accepted our offer to drive him home, giving us some directions.

Books, regardless of age, should have a good margin for leaving notes, exploring ideas. It's where we get the marginalia, sometimes called a gloss (glossaries owe their existence to scribes who just couldn't resist commenting on what they read.). Eventually the book is distilled into one's journal.

Transfer "permanent" things to your journal or common book for more work or future reference. Paper quality is critical, not just taking pencil and pen/ink with ease but accepting light washes from your watercolor box when needed.
