Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection does not make use of AI upscaled or generated art. The fully 3D assets can be seen in the game's main menu animation. These were rendered out in 2D for the scrolling backgrounds seen in the timelines and other areas.
You know shit is bad when Hallmark has a dumpster fire Christmas ornament.
I was honored to be interviewed as part of this look into the making of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection.

I'm not going to lie, I was gobsmacked that my contribution got an entire chapter.
Note: one of my contributions, the Khronicles of the Realms, isn't in the launch build. It's still cooking, and will be released in a future free update. 🙂
It has begun!

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is now available for all platforms. I can't wait for you all to see it; if you're MK fans, I think you'll be very happy with what Digital Eclipse has cooked up.

I normally game for an hour after my son goes to bed. I enforce it using a timer on my watch.

I played Bloodlines 2 last night.

I ended up ignoring the watch and playing for an extra hour and a half or so.
I can confirm that this port of MK2 was much better than it had any right being.
Mortal Kombat II for the Game Boy is an absolute triumph and fans who may have never played it may be very surprised at how much the original developers achieved! #MKLK

DE has added a new Fatality Trainer mode, so players can master the input and timing of every finishing move, with on-screen feedback and immediate looping to try again. #MKLK
On the same note, I'm thinking of new players being able to play MK Advance for the first time.
Thinking about new players getting lost in the pitch black sewers in Special Forces next week

SALEM'S LOT turns 50 as of today. Didn't know until my pal (and co-writer) Rich Chizmar told me.

When our engineers examined MK Trilogy's code, they found areas where loading time could be optimized, so we did that! In the original game, there would often be a lengthy pause whenever Shang Tsung morphed into a different character; now it's instant, thanks to our code tweaks. Exclusive to MKLK!

After an incredible 37 year career, on October 1st, Dan Forden (1/4 of the original Mortal Kombat team) began his well earned retirement. I cannot overstate the impact Dan has made on pinball, videogames, NetherRealm & especially Mortal Kombat.

I should also point out that the big difference between Morbius and Tron: Ares is that with one or two exceptions, everyone I know who saw Ares actually liked it.
I wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not.

As much as I love Tron, I'll be the first to say that it's a big budget franchise with only a cult following.
My two big gaming obsessions during my college years were Mortal Kombat and World of Darkness.

October’s a good gaming month for me, as both Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 are dropping in the next couple of weeks.
Random Mortal Kombat headcanon:

The Sea of Blood, the space between the realms, is so called because of its bottomless crimson colored waters. Some believe that the waters are the spilled blood of the One Being, after its dismemberment by the Elder Gods.
Mortal Kombat lore observation:

It amazes me sometimes how many MK fans simply refuse to believe that at his core, Bi-Han (the elder Sub-Zero brother) is an evil person.

I had always hoped we would eventually become the Federation from Star Trek.

At the rate we're going, it's looking more like we'll become the Federation from Blake's 7.
It will never happen, but now I want to see your take on Peanuts.
