I read the book too! I should totally join in the movie.
It didn't have to be perfection. It could have been just "great".
I used to think the insult of having the IQ the same as room temperature was a lot more devastating when all I knew was Celsius.
Quick review of Tron Ares after seeing it in cinema on my UK trip:

1) More of a Tron Legacy sidequel and original Tron sequel than a proper 3rd instalment in the franchise
2) interesting enough story and pacing
3) lovely call-backs
4) impeccable visuals
5) soundtrack that is the definition of "meh"

A play on words enters a room and kills almost a dozen people.

Pun in, ten dead.
And would I have rather gone for the Athena 1800 had I only waited 1 more month before placing the order for the GMMK3?

Yeah, probably.
In the end, I am super happy with how this keyboard turned out. It ticks all the boxes I set out for myself and then some. Especially with this custom american walnut wrist rest as the perfect accent piece.
If you want a 100% hassle free experience? Then no. Otherwise...

Did it require a force break mod? Yes. Did I have to remove the case foam for the gasket to actually do anything? Yes, I did. Will I be adding a bit of kilmat to get rid of that final bit of aluminium reverb? Probably.
Full aluminium anodized casing, bottom and top. 100% ISO PCB with hot-swap sockets and south facing RGB. Poron gasket mount. Some extra options that have slipped my mind, but in the end, the board was complete.

Now, would I recommend THIS keyboard to anyone else?
Keychron Q6 Max (which hadn't been in stock for months) or Glorious GMMK3 Pro (which actually was in stock and has a cool customizer for you to build your own keyboard, called boardsmith). In the end, after getting tired of waiting for the Keychron, I went for the less popular of the two choices.
One aliexpress order later and I had my switches and keycaps to put on them, but no actual keyboard to stick everything in. It was at that point that I realized just how abysmal the selection in the custom keyboard world is if you want a 100% board. In the end it came down to two options.
If you don't know what that means, switches come in several flavours. Linear, which are super smooth, tactile, which have a bump in the travel and clicky, which have a physical jacket or bar that snaps into place to add more feedback. Both tactile and auditory.
At that point I had realized this was happening so started researching for more tangible additions. I ordered several switch testers (I think I have like 100 different switches in a drawer somewhere), which made me realize that the perfect switch for me was silent and top-bump tactile.
Smoky Quartz keycaps by Tai-Hao. I honestly don't remember what lead me to them, but the list of requirements had grown to 3 to include these keycaps and once they were in stock, they were mine!
For months or even years at this point I was just meandering between keycap listings on aliexpress and random keyboard youtube videos (hi Glarses & Hypiotech) without any concrete direction until I stumbled upon the first item that made me go

My list of nice-to-haves was nothing to write home about.
1) aluminium (or some other high quality) case, not some injection moulded ABS cheap affair
2) barebones with hot-swap sockets so I can procure my own switches and keycaps
