Do what I did & shoot the fuckin things with a catapult.
Finally got round to re-stringing my T-type (under duress from Rowan!) & I'd forgotten just how great it sounds especially through the Vox. Plays fantastic too.
Like a custom shop Tele, classic twang from bridge pickup & humbucker in neck gives a darker more mellow tone.
Yep, it's a great mixture of everything.
Led Zep IV is one of *the* all time great rock albums. A massive influence on me & countless others. I've even got the "four symbols" tattooed on my forearm, along with the Hermit with the lantern from the back/inside sleeve😅
Not too bad at minute cheers. Just pissed off with the fireworks upsetting my dog, he's terrified as soon as it gets dark now!
I don't eat any fruit, but does orange juice & apple juice count instead?
So Robbie Williams reckons Noel Gallagher couldn't write songs after the first 2 Oasis albums. Bit rich from a bloke who'd struggle to write his own name. Just a Butlins Redcoat who got lucky. Should pay the Irish fella for writing Angels too, the tight twat.
It seems a very long time since I sat down in my bedroom with my Hondo Strat copy & began working through this. A real revelation - introduced me to power chords, Hammer ons & Pull offs, string bending, vibrato & tapping... God knows how many times I must've gone through it!😅
It's a great album👍 Remember when Dookie came out, it didn't leave my CD player for ages! Could quite possibly be the most listened to album I owned from that period (although technically my little sister actually bought it, so...😅)
While undoubtedly a great pedal, I don't get why folk pay £400 for the King of Tone after 5 years on a waiting list when the Wampler Pantheon does the same and more for a lot less money & no wait. Very versatile & great sounding Bluesbreaker type circuit. Possibly my favourite overdrive.
Good call! It's brought back memories of being a teenager & buying shitty cables with my paper round money😅
For past 10 years or so I've always used Fender leads & Roland patch cables and never had an issue.
Exactly why I'm reluctant to buy cheap cable. Only had it c.2 months & not exactly hammered it using it at home, would've thought for 12 quid it'd have at least seen the year out. Certainly not fit for use in a live situation - sitting playing at the desk shows its not for for purpose.
They're a set of bastards. Quick enough to come out & nick me for an alleged assault, but report break-ins to house & car and they don't want to know. Twats.
Quite possibly my favourite book on the Fab Four. A real treasure trove.
Stupid bastard manual is in French. What the hell is "le volume" supposed to mean???
Today I am mostly bashing out tunes by Thin Lizzy & those funky monks the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And maybe re-learning Holiday in Cambodia.
Today my neighbours have mostly been listening to renditions of Cherub Rock, This Charming Man, Little Wing, The Wind Cries Mary & many bluesy noodlings.
Me as a nipper with my pet chicken Stephen.
My dog gives me the very same look often - I know it well!😅
Just been to co-op, gang of kids outside pestering me to go in cos they can't get served. They wanted 20 Richmond, thought I'd do em a favour. Came back out, gave em their goodies & they went apeshit at me, called me all names under the sun. Ungrateful twats can get their own sausages next time...
Yep. Doesn't bode well for the future.
Thatchers got a lot to answer for. She killed off all the pit villages.
Parklife is a great album, and it captured the vibe of that time perfectly. If only I could go back to then...
Same here. 30 years ago I'd have said I wouldn't leave Yorkshire let alone the country, but now if given the opportunity I'd be off like a shot without looking back.
