I posted this on @zackrose2.bsky.social page, thought I would here also. My dad collected gingko seeds in about 1995 and gave me four to sprout. I gave
him a seedling, one is at my former house in Vancouver WA, one died. This was the smallest. It had a difficult time but now... 🌱 #gingko

Seed-grown gingko tree. The top died about 7 years ago. A new top sprouted and is growing nicely ever since. It is reaching for the sky. So far I don't know the sex. Its sibling, in town, has a similar growth habit and is male. The leaves are yellow now.

Gingkos are so beautiful. My favorite tree.

I have never been to WA State Gingko Petrified forest, but would like to see it.

Here is mine, grown from a seed. It had a difficult time due to being moved but is now growing nicely. 25 years old.

It's all perspective. When I was living in Oregon, I laughed when someone referred to Colorado as "Back East". In a sense, it is. Another time, I remember someone saying that they had never been to "East coast states like Illinois", where I was from. Also, calling California "down South".

Fall #gardening. First raised bed is weeded & covered with tree leaf mulch (gift from neighbor). Raking red maple leaves. 6 of 8 25-gal containers in enclosure, planted with saved garlic cloves & covered with leaf mulch. 2 remaining. Summer squashes I harvested today. 🌱 #AccessibleGardening

I tried plastic booties on Rufus. I thought they would keep he feet warmer on walks. He refused to take even one step!

Flannel quilt top almost done. Four more (long) seams to sew tomorrow. Then wait for batting to arrive. Given the thickness & warmth of the flannel, I ordered the thinnest cotton batting. This weekend I want to find a good flannel backing and fabric for binding. #quilting #MenWhoQuilt #quiltsky

I did a disappearing nine patch and discovered swastikas too! Fortunately, they were not sewn together yet, so it wasn't ruined.

I find it helpful to take photos of the assembled blocks and upload to Ipad. Somehow, I see things in photos that I don't see otherwise.

Today I worked on a flannel quilt. I had already preshrunk and starched the fabric. For flannel, I use 1/2" seam allowances and larger blocks than with #quilting cotton. After laying out the blocks, I saw a secondary pattern I liked more. More striped HSTs will be needed. #Quiltsky #MenWhoQuilt

Here I just laid out the HST blocks, trying to distribute them semi-evenly. Starting with 10" squares and 1/2" seam allowances, the HSTs become ~9 1/4" blocks. When joined, they will become 8 1/4" blocks.

When I looked at this semi-random arrangement, I saw the start of a secondary pattern. I also want an additional row and column for the size I want.

These are heavy, soft flannel in Fall colors.

Some of the blocks rearranged. If I counted correctly, I'll need 14 more stripy HST blocks and one that isn't striped. I also need to shuffle them around a bit, to more evenly distribute the various colors and patterns and avoid the same color/pattern against itself.

I agree, this appears to show males are more likely to condone violence, not females. It does appear to show a correlation with youth, however.

I agree with you. I'm not buying many anyway and shipping is so expensive, so I just picked up a few at the big box store.
