Went to a Halloween party last-minute on Saturday & family friend gave me his Dad's Pentax ME, 2 extra lenses, some of those fun '70s filters, AND two unexposed rolls of expired Superia400Xtra

1970s single-lens-reflex-35mm-film-camera sits atop its large light brown padded leather camera case, beside lens covers, & 2 additional lenses next to it. The macro is a 55mm Albinar ADG macro zoom [80-200mm, 1:3,9]; beside that, the camera's original 50mm SMC Pentax-M [1:1,7], behind which 2 rolls of 35mm film rest. The camera is currently wearing a 49mm Albinar ADG auto zoom macro [35-70mm, 1:3,5~4,8], along with a black "GENIUNE TOP GRAIN COWHIDE--MADE IN U.S.A." neck strap.

Sunset of blue & a very pale orange lights the altocirrus-clouds shades from a deep [almost-brick-]red to the palest pinks; when viewed behind the houses & school buildings of the neighborhood (as-seen thru these aged dirty garage windows; someone remind me to find the squeegee the next time I'm looking into there) in-person the stripes greatly resembled the Trans-Pride-Flag.

These are EXQUISITE. Reminds me of the push-button-switchplates I had in a Denver apartment (except those had been so overpainted, you only got to see a bit of the bronze--with the abalone-&-ebony-buttons for on/off)

A photo you'd use as an album-cover (one I need to re-visit & shoot with the overhead lights in-mind bzw. the double-exposure, but I'm terribly pleased with how the 1st attempt turned out)

Hold out as long as you can--my parents turned theirs on this past Wednesday, so now their house'll be 90°F from here till May (Mom: "I only put it up to 72"--their thermostat's in the hallway, & 7-15 degrees[F] cooler than bedrooms & living areas...oh well, it's great for plants)

HR hypothetical for USians: You're an Employee of a Certain Age (well beyond basic retirement) & you've had health troubles that prevent you from doing your job. You have disability benefits, but HR's adding arbitrary requirements for you to use it, & you're about fed-up with all the hoops...(1/4)

If you had instead written "I resign," would that declaration have forsaken your retirement benefits? Or would HR "understand" that, since you're an Employee of a Certain Age, you intended on retiring? (4/4)

Supervisor sends you a template (they say was handed over from HR) indicating what they need you to write: big in there is the statement "I resign my position," to which you object (since you're not resigning, you're RETIRING), so you change it to "I am retiring from [organization]." (3/4)

Despite not being allowed to do your job on-site, you keep in-touch with the organization more than most would've in your situation. Your supervisor needs to list your position (for a replacement), but to do so, they say they must have a "resignation" (not "retirement") letter from you. (2/4)

Several days ago there was a thread about naming a wifi network--where I KNEW I'd remembered to save a screenshot taken years ago in a restaurant--that I wanted to share, as it has my 2nd-all-time-favorite-ever-seen-name (1st place belongs to "JulieAndrewsMastrubatorium" from my apt-bldg)...

Android-based phone screenshot of available wifi connections as of a certain date in that godforsaken (though now seemingly carefree) year 2016, showing selections for the following wifi networks:

"Select Cut"
"ryan do the fucking dishes"
"HP-Print-55-Officejet 6600"
"HoofHearted"

Since, at the time, I was the standard-dish-washer in my household (even though I only dirtied a single coffee mug, glass, fork, knife, spoon, & plate everyday--while my then-other-half needed fresh glasses/mugs/cups/utensils every time he was hungry/thirsty, & would stay up into the next day's morning making wonderfully-cooked-meals for 7 ("I know you're not hungry now at 2:30am, but I made you a plate--& you can take the rest to share at work--I also put the leftovers in daily serving containers!") but then insist we go out to eat at least 3x/week ("you'll have to eat more than that, 'cause there's STILL no room for leftovers in the fridge at home--TAKE THOSE CONTAINERS TO YOUR WORK--he'll take a SMALLER box, 'cause we don't HAVE room right now"), then complain UNENDINGLY that the sink was always full of things needing cleaning), I laughed uproariously...only to hear "I guess Ryan does ALL THE WORK of feeding his household, then." Fun times; really, though--I haven't thought about this in a good 5 years, & back then I still couldn't talk about it. Now kinda feels like finally letting go of one of those bricks I should've dropped almost a decade ago. If you've read this far, thanks for that.

A far-less-crowded Millennium Park about 3 yrs ago; taken on CineStill400D with the Rolleiflex Old Standard
