Fascism seems to cause rapid ageing.

The book, Copaganda by @equalityalec.bsky.social goes into detail about this type of deceptive reporting. Great book that shines a light on the practices used to shape false narratives.

I think LibCom have got some of the old scans of various AFA documents & publications from that time so you can probably check there. I've just started to disappear down a Cable Street Beat rabbit hole on my delayed train.

The characterisation of it as Corbyn's AFA just made me chuckle, sorry. He leant his support to so many causes back then that I'm sure even he might have lost count.
danc.bsky.social
He was a supporter, for sure, as were several prominent lefties when it was a broad front set-up, but he wasn't involved in any capacity post-89, as far as I know when it was relaunched as a more militant national outfit. Not that it wasn't militant before but it had quite different groups involved.

Genuine LOL at 'Corbyn's UK AFA' 😂 (and yes I am aware that he may well be the only politician to have ever got the singer of the Angelic Upstarts into the Houses of Parliament).
danc.bsky.social
It's a thorny one though, isn't it because the term 'antifa' covers groups who actually exist, a conspiracy that doesn't and a form of organising and tactics that has a long tradition that goes back to the 1930s and has been developed since. But yeah, the media coverage is abject stenography.

Well, they seem to have learned... 🙈
TV tonight: Rylan Clark goes witch-hunting in Elizabethan Essex.

That New York Times story lots of people are sharing today about Farage's ties to US anti-abortion groups was first reported by @mc00.bsky.social on Byline Times a year ago bylinetimes.com/2024/11/29/n...

I wonder if Rylan has contemplated which groups in society might be the target of a modern day witchhunt 🤔

Is the mic close enough to pick up the faps?
danc.bsky.social
Yeah, I know what you mean. Filling the vacuum is basically 99% true now, so that's both good and very very bad.
danc.bsky.social
I think they would take issue with not being on that list (even if your points are probably true) and I wouldn't want to argue with them 😂
danc.bsky.social
I know RA did a lot of... err... other stuff, but their commitment to militant anti-fascism was a defining part of their identity so I'd have to slot them in between the squad and AFA myself.

The flagshaggers and Gary Neville's a wanker lads will be all in.

Yeah, attendance at next year's World Cup — teams or fans — should basically be seen as collaboration with the regime.

The Telegraph's trajectory from voice of traditional Conservatism in the UK to frothing-at-the-mouth fully online fascist accelerationism is going to be a hell of a case study if we ever get out of this era in one piece.
