i spent nearly $300 over months assembling my first costume in ages, and then didn't go.

a lot of people didn't due to the unexpected power outtages etc, but i wanted to and now i'm spiraling in a great deal of self-loathing, which isn't helpful, wanted or needed.

sometimes i lament having such a different a childhood than my peers, but then i read about the childhood experiences they had here in the States or in the UK, and i'm suddenly very thankful that i didn't have those, especially around gender segregation and performative expectation.

yeah, now i'm that kid driving down the road with the crumped side panel and still trying to look cool. it's an inner attitude, afterall :)

and it got worse before it got better, but i've got a hot little car now. i'm mad, tho, because they won't fix my car's rear panel and totaled it. but since there's only 1200 of them, there are none around for it to be compared to. argh.

anyway, cars are cool :)
