C) It is pretty cold out, which is a little discouraging for prolonged protest, but does make for bonding over hot chocolate, hot apple juice, or other beverages

B) I think the tactic (whether originally meant this way or not) of looking goofy and/or harmless while protesting is brilliant and make it very clear who the bad guys are in any conflict involving an ICEr and someone in an inflatable frog outfit. I won't be doing it, but I appreciate it.

A few brief things on protests:
A) No Kings Day seems like a good protest to attend. I expect I will, and I'll be keen to record anything that needs to be recorded, from any police/ICE abuses that happen to any nutty activists trying to provoke things. I support protests against Trump.

I don't think there's anything wrong with that; in general devices should serve people the way they want, and when they do it's a good thing.

Not that I'm overly fond of them to begin with, but the former tends to make me pretty irritated. "Is a corner of the bike wheel in this tile?"

I think people know OAN is a far-right network; no need to remember specific things about them when their network has never done normal journalism.

Cities should be doing their best to:
1) Convince people to move in rather than live in suburbs
2) Provide very solid alternatives to cars
3) Eventually remove most parking
4) Make good places for people to be social with each other

One of the adaptations I've been considering is getting a small freezer to keep in my bedroom for ice packs, because when an ice pack warms enough it sucks to walk from the bedroom to the kitchen (even in my very small NYC apartment); the standing up and lying back down part are awful.

I had two surgeries over the last 5 years, one knee, one ankle, and the recovery for them had me almost immobile for awhile, then PT+difficulty+crutches slowly diminishing. Was predictable. Probably counted as a temporary disability.

Nothing like these migraines.

I'm not sure, and right now I'm US-based so I'm sure the laws and norms are pretty different.

I really wish it were easier to predict what the hours will be; makes certain kinds of life-planning hard. I think a lot of disabilities don't have a "randomly moving parts" style.

I lose about 10 hours a week to migraines; never thought about considering it a disability, although that's not really an answer to the question.

The very idea that "pressure campaigns" are appropriate for things like this is deeply flawed.

They should go to shelters, which we should fund well and staff with social workers that will help fix the various issues they have and provide basic life skills, and put them on a path to recovery and likely a new life outside the city.

It's hard to have nice public facilities when we're unwilling as a society to use hard paternalism to solve issues relating to the homeless and mentally ill (together and separately) on the streets.

It'd be kinda funny to take the "Can't wait to see you tomorrow!" message from my dental office literally.

Not that I dislike my dental office; but it's more of a friendly acquaintance than a friend.

I have my doubts, but if the methods used seem appropriate and the study's big enough, I may need to revise my views on this topic. Thanks for the pointer; seems I have some reading to do.

We are now in the time of the year when coming out from under the blankets is one of the hazards to be braved every morning.

At least for weather reasons. The world's scary enough that you may want to stay under blankets even in the summer (probably lighter or fewer layers of blanket though)
