Yeah but I doubt you could watch even YouTube shorts on your Toshiba laptop... It might have been great, it might be repairable, but like... I don't think I could use as daily driver today, but you do you :)

And for my yoga - I can replace the battery, it's not that difficult.

- every OS has its quirks, ups and downs, as @linusmediagroup.com showcased in their Mac/apple challenge, even macOS
- depends on your workload
- never had any issue (Lenovo yoga)
- not the best, not the worst, can't complain
- literally never happened to me

Messenger why not Telegram ? Private chats are very secure and it's used by way more people than the other ones, so you wouldn't need to convince so many people... It's easy to say "switch" but you can't when people around you are not willing to also

I feel like it's the same with everything... The reviews are done by professionals with insane amounts of money, and then apparently stuff that's like "C tier" costs stupid amounts of money for normal people 😭
It's the same with server hardware, even second hand...

I agree that this is not enshittification, but discord does a lot of enshittification in other places, like limiting upload sizes (again...) and other stuff. They are moving stuff that was free behind paywall and that I would call enshittification.

I think you are totally allowed to still criticise them, just because you have a newborn doesn't mean you can just abandon your other responsibilities. Of course you can be understanding and accept that nothing bad happened really so it's fine, but you can still criticise them :)

You know they are really focused on their mission when they include their competitors in their materials (all the Proton* services, like mail or calendar)
Amazing nonetheless, but there are not many self-hostable alternatives. I mean, I see that most people wouldn't go for them, but you never know.

It's formal, but it's a petition. It means they have to look at it and formally respond, it doesn't force them to implement any new laws, or any other changes, the response along the lines of "no" is also possible.
I'd still hope they do something though.

Linus recently showed the possibility of upgrading the disks and RAMs on Macs and MacBooks. It'd still be more expensive, but you would get way more power out of it for other stuff than just NAS.

Curry is great. Like, in Germany they put curry on a wurst and it's really good. And here in Belgium you can also get curry sauce.
