So yeah. Novel thought experiments to aid in one's feeling of fucking losing it 101A. What happened there, did I pick up something in the air? What were the chances I was going to see the blue & purple version any day ever?

Anyway, the rest of the list - all weird things - goes unseen.
Someone had JUST! posted that album cover next to its blue & purple version. It's not perfectly what I pictured in my head (I was thinking cool pastels and daytime landscape, not bolder colors and night). But so close, especially since I specifically thought of THAT band/cover.
I pictured a certain album's cover art (the desert one with the robed beings going on a walk, to not name the band & get high weirdos talking at me). Yeah, I thought, like that, except arctic.

I set the notebook down and went to the computer, assuming nothing and feeling a bit over the experiment.
Because of dia de los muertos, I was thinking about potential signs from the afterlife. I wrote a list of possible signs I would prefer to see, trying to come up with unusual but specific things I'm not likely to come across.

The last "easy" one was a blue & purple arctic landscape drawing, and
The Woman in Cabin 10: Wasn’t expecting a lot from this, but it was pretty shallow. Watchable and familiar if one is looking to just zone out with an easy "rich people are scary" movie to eat dinner or scroll to, but it’s lacking.
The Howling: Boring. I think even kid me watching this with a friend making jokes the whole time still would have been annoyed at this one.

Not sure if my horror habits will phase out for the year yet but I still have a working shortlist. Maybe it's time to start picking at Oscar-level films?

Hereditary (2018) / Past Lives (2023)
Spontaneously decided for the holiday to finally watch the first Halloween in full.

Assessment: Movies filmed in California in the spring are not good "halloween" movies.
they smelled like breakfast
warm fresh-baked cinnamon rolls
iced in pure sweetness

Have you seen Leave No Trace? It has love-letter-to-Portland vibes.

The exact person who once said he didn't like Lily Allen (for no clear reason) is the same person who comes to mind first when I listen to her new album, so many years removed. Holy foreshadowing, batman.
Also, if you watch this and think about sticking a crystal in your nether regions: please fucking don't. It will get lost in there. Real toys meant for real bodies that won't lead to an ER visit aren't expensive.
Him: Holy shit an original movie I don't know what to do with my hands. It seems not to be well received (heh) by the average person, which is weird but what can one really expect with the combination of aesthetics, horror, americanisms, and toxic-on-purpose masculinity in this one. Loved the boop.
Ash: Slow, flat, boring characters, poorly structured. The idea was there but it didn't work like this. Tonally reminded me of some of the worst Stargate Universe episodes. The surgery machine stole the movie.

If you’re new to the wide wonderful world of asexuality (like if you’re wondering if you’re ace, or you know you are, but you’re not sure what that might mean for you personally), we have an amazing primer that can be a great starting point: www.scarleteen.com/read/ident...
Just the Basics, Ace: An Asexuality Primer
Think you might be asexual, or just curious about the ace community? Alaina Leary has the details.

Another vid this week from Ace Dad. This one sticks in the realm of ace/aro perspectives but all of these concepts affect everyone. I was actually going to post a longer vid today about amatonormativity but this is more bite-sized for those new to the idea.
