Tonight's dram is this Kilkerran Heavily Peated. Very punchy at 58.4% ABV means adding water is almost - *almost*! - a necessity.

After a little time, it opens up nicely. Spice, vanilla & caramel notes with a long, smoky finish. Great at £59 a bottle.

Wow! Really enjoying this 11yo Deanston that I picked up speculatively from @milroysofsoho.bsky.social recently. It is bottled at a punchy 54.8%. It's sweet but spicy with a hint of chilli heat on the finish. Lovely 😍

My Ninja 1000SX was in for a service so I had a new 1100SX SE for the day. Having more power & torque in the mid-range was great as were the Brembo brakes & Ohlins rear shock. It is undoubtedly an upgrade from mine but not by enough to warrant the cost.

Practically has to trump aesthetics when travelling. Have a look into SW-Motech or Shad gear. They'll probably have something that looks decent to fit any bike whether that's panniers, throwover saddle-bags or tail-packs. It's quality stuff too. I've had both on various previous bikes.

Suspension set-up day at Greenham Kawasaki with Mark of MH Suspension. I didn't think it was too far off as it was but a few tweaks front & rear has definitely improved it, being far more planted & balanced under braking. £30 well spent.

Just finished Severance S2.

S1 was mainly a load of "WTF?" with a "Wow!" finale. I really looked forward to S2.

S2 has been plenty of "WTF?", a load of filler and a "WT*A*F?" finale.
S3 is coming. I'm not sure when but I don't care. I'm not going to waste any more of my life on it.

Apart from the wonderful bottle & box art, the whisky itself is a revelation.

You need to do whatever makes you confident. Much like the original tyres, I think that the chain is another thing that many people swap well before the end of its usable life.
