Businesses need to think about US state legislation like EU member state legislation - there are a lot of nuances and the fines can be massive. (See, e.g., Texas and data protection).

I would learn as much about the law as you can, in context to the technology. Because once you’re out of law school I find it’s easier to learn about technology than it is to have the time and space to really explore the law.

I am glad hearings are happening, but wish it were back in 2011 and 2012 before the EU started down this path of spyware. Now it’s so much harder to reverse, but even more essential.
