I would like to hope so, but then I think of Margaret Thatcher, Liz Truss, and Theresa May in my own country and realise that women can be just as terrible as men.

'Wiser women'? She's an ultraconservative nationalist who opposes immigration, gay marriage, and women's rights. She also denies the atrocities committed by Imperial Japanese soldiers in WWII and has publicly endorsed a book promoting 'Hitler's elections strategy'.

She'd be ultra-MAGA in the USA.

OK, I guess I don't really know what you would like tbh. If you wanted to sign up as a supporter and get updates you can, but if you don't want the updates and don't want to pay membership fees, I'm not sure what you're hoping for?

If someone is unwilling to pay £1/m, it seems unlikely that they will convert to full paying members

I would be interested to see if there are any major parties around the world which over free membership. Every member creates administrative costs which need to be paid by somebody. The fees are already insufficient to let us afford more than a handful of targeted campaigns.

1) You can support and vote for the Greens for free
2) We don't have corporate sponsorship, members fees pay the essential admin costs
3) We offer a low-wage option that is entirely self-declared which is less than £1.09/ month, lower than most other major parties.

Local council by-elections are not the same as general elections. We all know people who vote differently in local elections vs generals (not to mention the typical low turnout for local byelections)
