GOP Voters are clearly still high on it as well. (Also literally high as well, I saw *WAY* more drug use in my rural-living days as compared to being back in an urban area.)
I think part of why the GOP hasn't killed the filibuster is they know how bad it would be. For them. The would be forced to pass a whole bunch of economically and politically devastating things by their own base. It would crash the economy and destroy their own coalition.
Legit question. Why? I mean in the old days when there was a *much* broader group of people watching a much smaller number of news sources, I could see flooding the zone like this. But now, how many people look at these sources without knowing the inside scoop?
Feels more and more that we are headed towards a "moment". Even more than hurricane Katrina which Broke the GOP 20 years ago. Something that inflicts so much pain, that the GOP can't hold back the tide any longer.
Oh, I think he's the beginning of the irrational nonsense that is destroying everything we hold as important in terms of freedom and democracy. But I am happy to use any tool I can to fight.
