This is sad, but a good reminder; it takes real vigilance by the people to ensure that ALL their elected officials, regardless of party, support the people’s will for checks and balances rather than partisanship.

It would be interesting to see the difference in dot balls for the same period. I am wondering whether batters feel more pressure to hit big in the power play so they take more risks and don’t leave or defend as many balls as previously?

Well, yes and no. The counter culture, civil rights and gender equalities battles in the 60’s &70’s were fought and often started by young people who could see a better way. Yeah, they KNEW they could be called up next without their college deferment, but still, they were aware and protesting.

It is hard to stay positive when they flood the zone so completely: how do you even prioritise which story to react to? Focus on the good things you can do- support independent press, join the ACLU, work to register new voters, engage with local government, engage with community charity.#resist
