Apparently this is the week where @volts.wtf and @adamconover.net finally line up their podcasts. @sgoodyear.bsky.social and @brooklynspoke.bsky.social on both shows promoting their book Life After Cars.
I don’t remember a ton about the original Running Man story, but yeah, I do remember the ending. Given the emphasis on the wife and sick toddler in the trailer, I, uh, would be surprised if they followed it to the letter.
Frost Children are a hyperpop duo who are so close to figuring out the intersection between cool, glitchy sounds and actual songwriting. This album is an improvement over the earlier stuff I sampled, but it’s a step away from being something I can fully recommend.

With SISTER, Frost Children haven't quite figured out the balance between engaging songwriting and just reaching for the big hooks.

I think there is a part of her that genuinely thinks she needs to represent and defend the people of her district.

Mostly that manifests as keeping people safe from guys who just want to mow lawns and pick crops and be left alone, and stopping Soros-paid liberals. This is the flip side of that.
I think Comer is confused, thinking that Bill Clinton is a former President that only became more beloved after he left office. We did have one of those, but he just passed away at the beginning of the year.
Comer: "The evidence we've gathered does not implicate President Trump in any way. Public reporting, survivor testimony, and official documents show that Bill Clinton had far closer ties to Epstein. We're working to bring former President Clinton in for a deposition, but Democrats aren't helping"
That’s the second time I’ve been “Um, actually”-ed here today. Time for me to get off Bluesky for a while!
The last time this much damage was done to the White House was when the British burned it down over 200 years ago.
Okay, then that makes a lot more sense.
The Post’s argument seems like it’s completely nullified by the fact that this is a ranked choice election, right?

Any Sliwa voters who would switch to Cuomo would put Cuomo second on their ballot anyway, making it irrelevant if Sliwa drops out or stays in.
My favorite part is how Grant dismisses “AI” as a marketing term yet simultaneously seems to completely buy the idea that it is an artificially intelligent consciousness.

They have so many ideas in their head, yet no understanding of what a Large Language Model is and does?!
It’s frustrating that it took until this week for Dems to start saying this publicly, but I’m glad they’re finally doing it.
Not to mention that quote from the other day about maybe not letting Stephen Miller tell us his deepest desires.
The Expanse is a really dense show and I’m sure the books are even more so (haven’t read them, either). But there’s no chance Bezos was able to devote the time and thought to all the various nuances of cautionary bad things in there, right? Just liked its cool sci-fi Game Of Thrones in space vibe.
Which is literally what Trump did last year with just the shitty minor tweaking they were set to pass before he stepped in.
This is confusing “mask on” for “genial nice guys.”

It also sounds a lot like, “Alex P. Keaton was a good guy, he had to have been because he was played by Michael J. Fox!”
It seems like the biggest problem with US immigration policy is that there’s no easy fix. The whole system needs to be overhauled, from asylum to a pathway to citizenship to (especially) the immigration court system that is permanently overwhelmed, and nobody wants to take on that monumental task.
On the plus side, this is Maine, so the people can Rank Choice their way out of this one by leaving Collins off their ballots or at least putting her at the bottom.
It’s incredible that he has an Oscar.
I have distaste for Leto, yet he isn’t a dealbreaker for me. But his appearance in the initial Tron Ares trailer took my wife from “mild interest” to “absolutely not.”
I’m not saying it isn’t worth it for our big cities to fight, just that the state has proven time and again they aren’t just making idle threats and they will pull funding and change laws to hurt those cities.
Genuinely asking, has Florida been aggressively attacking its biggest cities for the last decade? Because as a Houstonian, I can clarify that Texas absolutely has been looking for and finding any excuse to fight both politically and financially almost the whole time Greg Abbott has been in office.
20th century guys put their names on museum wings and universities so people would be like, “Carnegie-Mellon? That’s a great school!” and “I love the Sackler wing of the Museum of Fine Arts!” or “Rockefeller Center sure is a cool place.”

21st century villain? No effort at all to boost their names.
